Together We Made Summer Shine Thanks to your generosity, we raised more than $26,000 through our record-breaking WJCS 2026 Back-to-School Drive! Because of your support, hundreds of children from under-resourced communities across Westchester started the school year with the supplies and confidence they need to succeed. This summer, our Lemonade Stand for a Cause at Hip-Kid in Chappaqua was a tremendous success, raising hundreds of dollars for the drive. More than 50 Holocaust Survivors, along with their family members and caregivers, gathered at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale to celebrate Sukkot, a holiday that emphasizes community, gratitude, and resilience. Hosted by WJCS and co-sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York and the Claims Conference, the luncheon brought together survivors, supporters, community leaders, and elected officials for an afternoon of connection and celebration. On Thursday, June 4, Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) hosted its 6th Annual Holocaust Survivor Day Luncheon at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, NY. The event brought together nearly 50 Holocaust Survivors and 20 Second Generation Survivors living in the Westchester community, along with their family members and caregivers. In just a few months, more than 800 children in WJCS programs will walk into classrooms across Westchester. For many of their families, the rising cost of essentials — clothing, shoes, food, hygiene items, and school supplies — makes back‑to‑school season a time of stress rather than excitement.
