Trauma

The award-winning WJCS Trager Lemp Center: Treating Trauma & Promoting Resilience, located in all WJCS behavioral clinic locations, is the premier trauma treatment center in Westchester County. Founded in 1982 and formerly known as the Treatment Center for Trauma and Abuse, it has been at the forefront of recognizing and addressing the psychological trauma caused by sexual abuse, domestic and community violence, and other traumatic life events.

The WJCS Trager Lemp Center provides comprehensive outpatient, evidence-based treatment programs to help adult and child survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. We also provide treatment for families of children with problematic sexual behavior. Spanish-speaking staff is available at most sites.

WJCS experts offers community education and trainings to teach about and foster a trauma-informed system of care in schools and child-serving and mental health agencies throughout Westchester. Trauma-informed care trainings cultivate a sensitivity to the trauma caused by abuse, violence, poverty, and other adverse life experiences. WJCS is a trauma-informed agency.
