Every story shared helps ensure that history is never forgotten.
WJCS was honored to bring Westchester community members together at the Scarsdale Public Library for the opening reception of Survivors Among Us, a powerful exhibit and educational series dedicated to preserving Holocaust survivor stories and fostering remembrance, reflection, and learning.
Held in partnership with the Friends of the Scarsdale Library, the evening featured Holocaust survivor and Westchester County resident Lisa Tobias-Hutter, who, along with her family, generously shared her personal story. Her testimony offered a moving account of resilience, courage, and hope, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
The opening reception marked the start of a month-long series of educational programs designed to engage community members of all ages in meaningful conversations about history, memory, and our shared responsibility to preserve survivor testimony.
WJCS extends its sincere thanks to the Friends of the Scarsdale Library, Lisa Tobias-Hutter and her family, and everyone who joined us for this special evening of learning and remembrance.
The Survivors Among Us exhibit will remain on display throughout October. Visitors can also explore digital survivor testimonies available in the Scott Room at the library and participate in upcoming programs connected to the exhibit.
