LGBTQ+ youth need you!

If you’re a parent, an LGBTQ+ adult, a youth-serving professional or a concerned community member, you can help an LGBTQ+ youth not just survive, but thrive! Whether you have time, money, or other resources to donate, we would love to have your support.

Tax-deductible donations from people like you give WJCS Center Lane the ability to help LGBTQ+ youth create community, connect with culture and contribute to the world! Center Lane makes a huge difference in the lives of youth. In 2019, we served 2,581 people with only a handful of staff members. Every dollar donated to Center Lane directly impacts the life of a young person who experiences your donation as an affirmation of their lives and their futures. Volunteers are needed to assist with facilitating groups, planning and running events, mentoring and supporting teens, and leading Center Lane Pride Groups. To volunteer at WJCS Center Lane, please click here.

Center Lane’s Found Family is a group of adults ages 22 and older who care about Center Lane and the youth we serve. Participants are connected to Center Lane in a myriad of ways—as alumni, parents, community members, or LGBTQ+ adults who want to support our youth. The LGBTQ+ community is one of few minorities not raised by our people—this means LGBTQ+ youth often struggle to connect with Queer culture, learn their history, and find their place in the community. That’s where the Found Family group comes in.

Center Lane’s Found Family holds monthly meetings to support people who are running fundraising events for the youth, facilitating groups for youth, and working on projects to help Center Lane reach and serve more youth. LGBTQ+ mentorship is crucial to helping youth understand the opportunities and challenges that may await them as members of the community, and we need adults who want to be engaged and help all Westchester youth thrive.

Our Found Family group meets monthly and you can find the next meeting here.
