Summer flew by for us all at WJCS! Despite the fast pace of the season, we were able to fit in some amazing volunteer events. And, there’s even more planned for this fall!

This July, we received 500 backpacks, provided through Supplies for Success and packed by UJA-Federation Westchester for the annual WJCS Back-to-School Drive. In June, volunteers participating in Deloitte’s Impact Day assisted ParentChild+ staff at Hartley Park. And, just this past weekend, volunteers got to work on a beautification project at a WJCS community residence as part of Volunteer NY’s Serve & Remember 9/11 campaign.Didn’t have the chance to volunteer this summer? Don’t worry, we’ll need your help this fall!WJCS is looking for volunteers for our annual Have a Heart for the Holidays Gift Drive, where we collect donations to purchase gift cards and toys for families in our programs. There will be a toy drop-off day at WJCS’s White Plains headquarters on November 8th, 2022 (Election Day), when most public schools are closed. We’re also looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in our programs, help out in our after-school program, especially if you have experience preparing high schoolers for college, and plan their upcoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah project with WJCS!

If you have any questions about the opportunities available for volunteers, please email Alexandra Luciano, Associate Manager of Volunteers & Events, at [email protected] or call 914.761.0600 x2239.
