WJCS is pleased to be offering classes in documentation preparation and scanning, in response to community requests and job opportunities in this field, for Westchester residents at our Taft Center in White Plains. Document Preparation

This course marks the initial stage of a comprehensive four-course training program designed to prepare individuals for employment in the field of document retention and file organization/management.

Document retention is an increasingly vital discipline across various industries, such as healthcare, legal, government, and various other businesses.

Throughout this course, students will acquire fundamental knowledge and skills in document retention, covering essential topics such as document preparation, organizational techniques, labeling, inventory management, and other essential competencies for careers in document retention and management. These acquired skills are versatile and can readily be applied to various roles within organizations, serving as a valuable stepping stone for career advancement as one gains experience.

Scanning

This foundational course aims to acquaint each student with essential computer terminology and software applications relevant to document retention. Additionally, the curriculum will explore into diverse methods for improving, editing, and establishing a document file structure that is indispensable in meeting the contemporary needs of numerous businesses.

Furthermore, students will gain proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving hardware issues that may arise during scanning, as well as develop a keen understanding of file maintenance and the evaluation of document-related errors.

The primary focus of this course is to impart knowledge about the advantages of utilizing computer applications and hardware for scanning and document retention. By transitioning to digital documents, businesses can achieve several benefits, including reducing paper consumption, conserving storage space, effectively organizing their files, streamlining collaboration, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
