The Nurturing Parenting program is a support group for mothers and their young children who are affected by domestic violence. It is part of the WJCS Trager Lemp Center: Treating Trauma and Promoting Resilience in Yonkers. It utilizes research-proven treatment and services to help domestic violence survivors heal from the trauma of abuse, violence, and other adverse life experiences and prevent them from experiencing future violence and aggression.

Participants in the Nurturing Parenting program are educated about nurturing parenting skills in order to help break the destructive cycle of abusive and neglectful childrearing. The program provides on-site childcare, dinner, and MetroCards. Members of the support group are not required to be currently involved with services in WJCS mental health clinics. The program is funded through the Department of Social Services (DSS).
