Domestic Abuse Treatment Services

Domestic Violence is recognized as a trauma for victims and families. Treatment for domestic abuse is a component of the WJCS Trager Lemp Center: Treating Trauma and Promoting Resilience. The Trager Lemp Center utilizes research-proven treatment and services to help survivors heal from the trauma of abuse, violence, and other adverse life experiences.

Families dealing with a member who perpetrates abuse, whether physical, emotional, financial, or other controlling and manipulative behaviors are offered by the Center to help adult victims and children heal. Individual and family counseling is provided at WJCS clinic locations in Hartsdale, Mt. Vernon, Yonkers, and Peekskill by WJCS clinicians specializing in the area of trauma.

Recognizing the importance of safety and the families’ frequent involvement with the courts, referrals are offered for legal representation, shelter, and advocacy services to our community partners who support those needs. Domestic Abuse Treatment at the WJCS Trager Lemp Center: Treating Trauma and Promoting Resilience addresses the impact of such trauma on newly acquired or re-occurring mental health stressors utilizing a team approach knowledgeable about the systems involved with the family.
