Fire Safety Educational Services

Through the Family Matters program, WJCS offers education services about fire-safety and assesses children at-risk of fire setting.

Services include:

  • Consultation to community providers on fire-setting behaviors, normal development and appropriate response
  • Group fire-safety education, conducted by fire personnel and social worker
  • Home visits to meet with families and do individual fire-safety education
  • Assessments of the child’s fire behaviors to determine if further, more intensive evaluation is necessary
  • Training around the county on youth and fire behaviors
  • Referrals, where necessary
