As Chief Program Officer, Shannon Van Loon leads WJCS’s non-clinical program divisions. In this role, she oversees WJCS’s Residential Homes and programming for Children Youth and Families, Geriatric, Jewish, and IDD populations. Shannon joined WJCS in 2017, and was previously Assistant Executive Director of the Children, Youth, and Family division.

Prior to joining WJCS, Shannon was Vice President of Strategic Development for the New York Center for Child Development; and New York Center for Infants and Toddlers, Inc., which serve young children with special needs. Before that, Shannon was Associate Director of Business Development at The Doe Fund, New York’s largest anti-homelessness and criminal agency, in which role she oversaw several self-funding work-training and business ventures for homeless and formerly incarcerated individuals. Shannon has also served as a consultant to several socially conscious startups, and currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the Tree of Life Guild and the Seguinland Institute. She earned her B.A. in Child Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina, and her M.Ed. from Harvard University.
