Seth Diamond has served as Chief Executive Officer of WJCS since June 2018, overseeing the organization’s strategy, vision, and operations. Prior to joining WJCS, Seth spent nearly 30 years in city and state roles, primarily providing services to low-income New Yorkers. He was Commissioner of Homeless Services and spent 15 years at the city’s Human Resources Administration overseeing the cash assistance, food stamp, and employment programs. He was also Chief Operating Officer for MetroPlus, the health insurance arm of New York City Health and Hospitals. Seth was also part of the city’s leadership team responding to Superstorm Sandy, and as head of the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, helped to provide assistance to impacted homeowners and small businesses.

Seth is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from Brown University, and a law degree from New York University School of Law.
