Katrina Schermerhorn oversees infant, children, youth, and family programs at WJCS. Before joining WJCS in 2021, Katrina was Program Director at Sauti Yetu Center for African Women, a multi-service community organization dedicated to mobilizing African immigrant women to improve the quality of their lives, strengthen their families, and develop their communities.
Katrina has a bachelor’s degree in social work and a Master’s in Public Administration from State University College at Buffalo. She currently attends Capella University and is obtaining her PHD in human service leadership with a focus on policy. She has participated on the Bronx sexual assault task force and developed best practices on working with immigrant families.
