This April, WJCS Early Childhood Programs proudly celebrated the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)'s 2026 Week of the Young Child and El Día de los Niños with a series of joyful, family-centered events across Westchester County. These celebrations highlighted the importance of play, creativity, and community while bringing together children, parents, caregivers, and community partners in warm and welcoming spaces. Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) hosted a joyful celebration of the 25th Anniversary of its Parent-Child Center in New Rochelle on Tuesday, October 21st. Music, toys, games, block building, and other fun activities were all part of the festivities. Dozens of children, WJCS staff, and Assemblyman Steven Otis were on hand to take part in the quarter-century milestone occasion. By now I am sure many of you have heard of the terrible act of antisemitism early Thursday morning January 25th at the Golden Horeshoe, a shopping center on the border of New Rochelle and Scarsdale. The perpetrators of this abhorrent act wrote antisemitic graffiti, on stores at the shopping center but not just on any stores. They deliberately chose those shops which had proudly announced that they stand with Israel.
