Under the general supervision of the Care Management Director, the Administrative Assistant/Patient Coordinator is responsible for managing the administrative functions related to patient enrollment and management in the care management program. Other responsibilities include managing all day-to-day functions of changing status of members, managing the Outreach list of members and reconciling bills to payments received.

The ideal candidate must possess an Associate Degree or High School Diploma and 2 years of related experience; solid knowledge of excel and word (including mail merge); and ability to meet time sensitive deadlines and multi-task in a changing health care environment.

Assistant Controller

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Assistant Controller to work in out Headquarters office in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Controller, the Assistant Controller supervises a large or complex accounting fiscal pre-auditing operation and a staff of professional accountants and/or clerical support personnel. Other responsibilities include overseeing the daily operation of a unit that might include payroll, the disbursement of funds, the maintenance of accounting books of record or automate accounting records, the preparation of statements for management, and the preparation for financial accounting, cost and statistical statements, studies and reports.

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics with a minimum of twelve credit hours of accounting and four years of professional accounting or auditing experience including one year in a supervisory position; or Master’s Degree the degree may be substituted on a year for year basis for the experience specified in (a) but the one year in a supervisory position must be included. Must have thorough knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques and procedures of modern accounting and auditing including cost accounting.  Must possess a working knowledge of computer programs to include both accounting and general programs including advanced EXCEL skills.  Must have experience with a not for profit agency.

Billing Specialist

WJCS is currently seeking a candidate for a full-time, 35 hours per week, billing specialist. The employee will post weekly remittances and reconcile cash receipts to the general ledger. The billing specialist will also be responsible for verifying the prior approvals from DSS, entering them into the database, submitting the monthly requests to Department of Social Services (DSS), and checking for authorizations for agency services. 

 The ideal candidate must possess:

  • A minimum of a HS diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in a bookkeeping or related environment

Care Coordinator - Health Home Program

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Care Coordinator to work in the Health Home Program throughout Westchester County with our office based in Yonkers, NY.  Under supervision of the Care Manager, the Care Coordinator will work with individuals in the community who have two chronic medical conditions or a mental health issue.  The goal of the program is to assist these individuals in managing all of their health needs and in living a well-balanced, health life.

Responsibilities include providing care management services and health coordination to health home members; providing timely outreach and engagement to potential health home enrollees as identified by the Health Home; overseeing and providing access to the services an individual needs with the goal of maintaining health and avoiding unnecessary use of hospitals and emergency rooms. 

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of serious health and mental health conditions and management of same; knowledge of community resources and advocacy; and must be able to communicate effectively in English both written and orally. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish is required. Clinical Supervisor - Family Mental Health

WJCS is now hiring for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Clinic Supervisor. Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Clinic Supervisor will oversee the Mobile Mental Health Unit, Juvenile Fire Prevention Program and maintain half a caseload.

Responsibilities include providing clinical supervision to mobile mental health social workers; day-to-day oversight of the mobile mental health program, including assisting staff with crisis; assisting staff with case management functions and providing on-going support and supervision to them as needed.

Community Habilitation Worker

WJCS is currently searching for several Community Habilitation Trainer to work up to 20 hours per week at $14.00 per hour.  Hours are flexible. The Community Habilitation Trainer will work in White Plains.  Under the general supervision of the POINT Director, the Community Habilitation Trainer will be responsible to provide in home and community based habilitation services such as education, instruction, and direct services to individuals with ID/DD in independent living settings.  Other responsibilities include assisting with the development of the individuals’ Community Habilitation Plans; promoting individual’s chosen individualized outcomes that empower and enable individuals to achieve their stated goals and to live as optimally as possible; and assisting in the development of social skills by providing education, training, and role modeling.

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. Home Visitor

The WJCS Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) is currently recruiting part-time staff to work in their home visiting program. Home visitors are needed to serve eligible families in White Plains, Port Chester, New Rochelle, Greenburgh, Mamaroneck and Mount Vernon.  The home visitor is trained to support parents as their children’s first teachers and promote school readiness for their toddler aged children.  In the comfort of the family’s home, parent, child and home visitor participate in fun and stimulating activities using specially selected books and toys in twice weekly half hour home visits.

This meaningful and exciting work requires a minimum commitment of 9 hours per week. Home Visitors need no special educational background but must have a personality suited to home visiting and enjoy working with parents and toddler-aged children.

The PCHP runs from October 2017 to May 2018 following the school calendar. Training will be held early October for successful candidates in our WJCS Hartsdale office. Although home visitor’s hours are flexible, attendance is required at weekly staff/training meetings held on Wednesday mornings throughout the school year in Hartsdale. Home visitors receive compensation for their work.

Learning Specialist/Tutor

We are looking for an energetic, Learning Specialist to perform part-time tutorial work with children and adults who are experiencing difficulties with elementary to high school level reading, reading comprehension, and math.  The applicant should have excellent communication skills in order to provide an exceptional learning experience for the student. 

The successful applicant will be able to provide direct instruction to students, individually or in small groups, in reading fluency, decoding, reading comprehension, and math in order to strengthen and advance the client’s academic skills. Tutors must be available to work after school hours between 3:00 and 7:00. This position can be successfully filled by an individual who has attained or is in the process of working toward completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, language arts, psychology or other liberal arts.  Hourly salary is commensurate with education and experience. Peer Specialist

WJCS is currently seeking a part time Peer Specialist to work 12-15 hours per week in Yonkers, NY. Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Peer Specialist will provide peer support services to participants at a community center serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning adolescents. Other responsibilities include co-facilitating, planning and implementing groups; developing strong, positive relationships with participants to promote personal growth; and maintaining client records and data.

Program Specialist

WJCS' Center Lane, the only LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer) youth and community education center in Westchester county, is currently searching for two part-time, Program Specialist to work from Yonkers and White Plains, NY. One position is 20 hours per week and the other is 10-14 hours per week.  The Program Specialist serves the psychosocial needs of participants at a Westchester County-based community program serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) adolescents and young adults, and assists the program director in coordination and implementation of services.  Responsibilities include providing supportive counseling, outreach, case management, and advocacy services to adolescents/young adults and families; facilitating support groups and drop-in sessions for adolescents/young adults; and providing crisis intervention for  adolescent/young adult clients.

The ideal candidate must have experience in working with adolescents/young adults; must have knowledge of and extreme comfort with issues affecting LGBTQ youth and their families; and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Program Specialist- MJB

WJCS is currently searching for part-time, 21 hours per week Program Specialist for our community-based afterschool and youth development program for girls in Yonkers, NY. The Program Specialist must be available weekday afternoons to work the minimum hours from 3:00 – 6pm, with flexibility to work alternate hours as afterschool needs require. Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Program Specialist will provide program services to young women from the community who participate in the program. Other responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum based workshops intended to increase positive self-esteem and self-worth for girls and young adult women; conducting outreach to parents, families and community organizations regarding program services; and ensuring a continuum of services and youth development programming for after school youth.

The ideal candidate must be have experience facilitating and developing programs for youth; able to build supportive and professional relationships with youth, young adults and staff; and able to take initiative and work collaboratively.  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is preferred and must be able and willing to commit to entire program and program philosophy.  Computer literacy is preferred.  Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.

Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, per diem staff will fill in for our regular staff whenever they are not able to work. Our staff supports and encourages the club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, educational, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Social Worker - Yonkers Schools Stabilization

WJCS is seeking an MSW to work closely and collaboratively with the Yonkers school district to provide services to youth identified by the district.  This is a new, innovative and exciting program and the MSW will be part of a team, which will include a Respite Worker and Family Support Worker.  This team will work with youth, and their family, that the school district identifies as needing short-term, community stabilization and support to prevent psychiatric hospitalization, suspension and/or expulsion and to increase overall functioning in their community.  Candidates should have experience working with youth in the community; Spanish-speaking required; valid driver’s license and car required.

Social Worker, Family Mental Health Clinic

WJCS has an opening for a full-time, 35 hours per week Social Worker for our family mental health clinic in Yonkers, NY. Under general supervision of the Associate Clinic Director, the Social Worker will provide psycho-therapeutic services to children, adults and families experiencing emotional difficulties.   The Social Worker’s responsibilities consist of ongoing cases, crisis and intakes and utilizes evidence based practices.  The Social Worker is responsible for all recording and statistical procedures required by the agency including case records, insurance forms, related data, monthly statistical sheets, schedules, surveys, etc; and maintaining necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate must have thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work. Must be able to work with children, adolescents, adults or families in poorer communities, conduct interviews to obtain social and medical information necessary to perform diagnostic evaluation and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of MS Office and Cerner or other electronic medical record system is needed. Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus. 

The selected person will have a MSW from an accredited school of social work and be licensed by the New York State Education Department to practice social work. On-going clinical supervision and training is available at WJCS’ Educational Institute.

Teacher- TASC

WJCS is currently seeking an Academic Teacher to provide adult education and TASC™ preparation to help women obtain their high school equivalency diploma. Instructional responsibilities required are teaching to the TASC™ that includes reading, writing, social studies, science, and mathematics as directed by the New York State Education Department.  Position is 21 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Must have knowledge of administering and scoring TABE, assisting adult students with test strategies, completing TASC™ test applications. Experience with Smart Board technology and computer applications.

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education; Master’s Degree and NYS Teacher Certification preferred with at least 5 years teaching experience. Must also have experience teaching adults in an urban environment.
