Accounts Receivable Specialist

WJCS is searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in our headquarters office in White Plains, NY.  Under the general supervision of the Revenue Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for billing tasks related to private, government, 3rd Party, Self-pay and other funding sources. Other responsibilities include performing all the necessary support functions as required to meet departmental delinquency and past due collection goals. Payment posting; generate insurance claims and self -pay invoices; review client accounts to proactively resolve billing errors prior to claim submission.

The ideal candidate must possess an Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma and a minimum of three years in medical billing, bookkeeping or accounting experience and knowledge of accounts receivable systems.  Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program officials, employees and others.  Proficient with various computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel).  Must be able to sit for a long period of time.

Assistant Coordinator, Claims Conference

WJCS is currently seeking a part time (7-14 hours/week) Assistant Coordinator, to work as a part of our Claims Conference In-Home Services Program. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Assistant Coordinator will provide budget creation, information management, grant reporting, file management, and in-home evaluations of a person’s need for home health services and other supports.     

In this position the selected candidate will be responsible for using software apps including Diamond and Fluxx to create, maintain, and report budgets; maintaining client files; provide in-home visits to evaluate/re-evaluate clients for in-home services and assist Holocaust survivor’s complete paperwork for eligible benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a valid NY State Drivers License; experience creating excel spreadsheets and intricate budgets and the ability to speak Russian. Knowledge of the Holocaust; serious health and mental health conditions and senior government entitlements preferred.

Assistant Residence Manager

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Assistant Residence Manager to work in a group home in Westchester County.  Under general supervision of the Residence Manager, the Assistant Residence Manager performs a variety of tasks associated with assisting the Residence Manager with the responsibilities of the supervision and overall operation of a community based residence that provides residential habilitation services and supports for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Other responsibilities include performing the duties and essential functions of the position of Direct Support Professional; providing Person Centered Supports as out lined in the NYS DSP Code of Ethics; and promoting and practicing justice, fairness, and equity for the people you support and the community as a whole and will affirm the human rights, civil rights and responsibilities of the people you support. 

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and health care conditions; knowledge of OPWDD Standards; and knowledge of supervisory and administrative practices that promote team work and development of staff.  Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, two years of College preferred.  Two years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and one-year supervisory experience.  A Valid Driver’s License for over two years is a must.

Behavioral Support Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, Behavioral Support Specialist (BCBA/BCBaA)As a member of our team you will assist in the development, training, implementation and evaluation of positive behavioral programming for adults with developmental disabilities living in supervised residential settings throughout lower Westchester County. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the BCBA to ensure quality, person centered support services
  • Conduct FBAs and Skill Assessments
  • Develop and monitor person centered behavior support plans
  • Provide plan specific and generalized behavioral in-service training to staff
  • Conduct reliability checks to ensure the accurate implementation and documentation of plans
  • Analyze data, chart and report on the effectiveness of support plan

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Training or experience in behavior analysis
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good PC skills including Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team

Clinical Supervisor

WJCS is now hiring for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Clinic Supervisor. Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Clinic Supervisor will oversee the Mobile Mental Health Unit, Juvenile Fire Prevention Program and maintain half a caseload.


Responsibilities include providing clinical supervision to mobile mental health social workers; day-to-day oversight of the mobile mental health program, including assisting staff with crisis; assisting staff with case management functions and providing on-going support and supervision to them as needed.


The ideal match for this position is a candidate who has experience in home and community based work; knowledge of, and experience with, evidence-based models of clinical care; and a preferred understanding of the Westchester County Children's System of Care. Candidate must possess LCSW plus 3 years' experience. Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License. Spanish speaking preferred.

Community Habilitation Worker

Direct Support Professional(s)

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is a large, not for profit, organization with headquarters in White Plains, NY.  Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County.  Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability.  Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.  Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD.  Candidates must have a valid NYS driver’s license for at least two years.  A minimum 6-12 months working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred.  This position requires physical activity including but limited to lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, flexing, and bending.

Intensive Care Coordinator

WJCS is now hiring for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Intensive Care Coordinator. This position is part of an exciting program in Westchester County working as part of a collaboration with the local DSS office, to develop plans that would permit at-risk youth to remain safely in their homes and communities.  WJCS staff would be integral members of the DSS CSU team, providing direct care coordination to youth and their families where mental health needs are primary and providing on-going consultation to the team, from a trauma and mental health perspective.

Peer Specialist

Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Peer Specialist will provide peer support services to participants at a community center serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning adolescents. Registered Nurse

WJCS is searching for full-time and part-time Registered Nurses, to work in our group homes located in Westchester County.  Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision, audio evaluations, and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi- annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the all  protocol and  ensures documentation is present for all trainings.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Registered Nurse; valid driver’s license and vehicle required; have a CPR Certification; and have experience working with the ID/DD population. Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations as it relates to nursing practices and procedures helpful.

WJCS is currently searching for part-time, flexible workers for two respite programs in Westchester County to provide in-home assistance for families caring for either a dependent older person, or as a respite sitter for a child/children with a developmental disability. Work hours and area are of your choice. Provide stimulating companionship, supervision, and socialization. Follow through with care plans recommended by the family. If appropriate take elderly client for a walk or help them with their exercises, play games, read, listen to music. If needed, fix a light meal or escort them to appointments, shopping, or errands. WJCS is currently seeking both permanent part-time and per diem staff to work in our Social Clubs located in Peekskill and Shrub Oak, NY. Positions are open for Tuesday/Thursday from 5pm-9pm and daytime openings for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8-2pm.

The ideal candidate should have a background in working with adults and have a desire to help others. Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and be able to operate a 13-passanger van. Staff work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, and will provide support and encouragement to the social club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, education, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is a large, not for profit, organization with headquarters in White Plains, NY.  We are searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Social Worker to work in Peekskill.  Under the general supervision of the Clinic Director, the Social Worker will provide mental health services to persons in the community having psychiatric diagnosis and requiring services offered by a licensed mental health facility.  Other responsibilities include providing comprehensive clinical services, including assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment to clients of all ages in a dynamic Family Mental Health clinic setting.  Opportunity to work in varied treatment modalities with clients of all ages with a broad range of emotional, social and behavioral issues.  On-going clinical supervision and training in the WJCS Educational Institute.  LMSW required and some evenings required.  Knowledge of evidence-based principles and techniques is a plus as well as comfort with computer applications and good knowledge of community resources. Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is seeking clinical social workers or licensed mental health counselors for full time outpatient clinic positions.  Ideally the candidate will work full- time (35 hours weekly) including evening hours, with a flexible schedule. WJCS has an opening for a Social Worker to work in our satellite clinic in the DSS satellite office in Yonkers, New York. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week.  Under supervision of the Program Coordinator, the social worker provides assessment, crisis intervention, referral and linkages, case coordination and treatment to clients referred by DSS. The social worker works in partnership with DSS workers and provides consultation and guidance to the DSS workers on recognition of mental health problems and related mental health issues.

Social Worker- Linkages

WJCS is currently searching for a Social Worker for the Linkages Program serving Westchester County. The Social Worker will work directly with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, specifically, the Department of Probation, throughout Westchester County. The selected individual will primarily complete comprehensive, forensic, mental health assessments and referral for mental health/substance abuse treatment and other community based services, for clients assigned to WJCS' Linkages Program.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, position. The selected candidate must be a NY Licensed Masters Level Social Worker or NY Licensed in a related field from an accredited school, plus two years experience working with adolescents.  The selected individual must also have a strong understanding of adolescent development, be able to work well independently, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work in various host locations.  Licensure will be required within three months of hire.  Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus.  The selected person must have their own motor vehicle in order to travel throughout Westchester County.
