Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist performs tasks involving the recording of expenses and cash disbursements following prescribed practices and procedures. Other responsibilities include inputting and allocating invoices, purchase orders, expense reports and recurring expenditures to a computerized accounting system; obtaining proper approvals and backing up documentation; and performing administrative tasks related to financial record keeping.

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of A/P procedures and controls; must be able to use spreadsheet programs like Microsoft Excel and Word; and must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to relate well with supervisors, program officials, employees and others. Community Habilitation Worker

Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. This position is responsible for providing program curriculum, group counseling, individual counseling, peer leadership development and school-community psycho-education training to faculty, students and families at the middle school. The focus is on domestic and interpersonal violence, but also addresses violence prevention, healthy relationships and communication among other related issues.

The ideal candidate must have proven ability to work with youth, adults and families; clinical experience in the field trauma treatment and prevention; and thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work/counseling and youth development. Must possess a LMSW (or acquire licensure in first year), Art Therapist or related graduate professional degree and licensure. Computer literate and able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Program Director( Scopes)

WJCS’ School Based Mental Health Satellite Clinics in 2 local elementary schools in the Peekskill City School District is seeking a part-time of full-time, 28-35 hours per week, with benefits, Program Director. The Program Director has daily administrative and clinical responsibility for the mental health clinic services that are provided to school-aged children and their families. He/She will supervise a professional team of clinicians who identify, diagnose and provide treatment and support to “at risk” students and their families on-site in 2 schools. The Program Director establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with the school community as well as organizes and provides training to the school and parent community within each school building. The applicant must have clinical experience working with youth and families and be a Certified Social Worker (CSW) or Ph.D. licensed to practice in New York State. Strong writing, verbal, organization, and computer skills are necessary. Experience working with an “at-risk” youth population is desired. A car is needed since the position may require off-site work and travel between the 2 school buildings and the clinic. Registered Nurse

We are searching for full-time and part-time Registered Nurses, to work in our groups homes located in Westchester County. Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision, audio evaluations, and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi- annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the all protocol and ensures documentation is present for all trainings.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Registered Nurse; valid driver’s license and vehicle required; have a CPR Certification; and have experience working with the ID/DD population. Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations as it relates to nursing practices and procedures helpful.

Social Worker- Linkages

WJCS is currently searching for a Social Worker for the Linkages Program serving Westchester County. The Social Worker will work directly with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, specifically, the Department of Probation, throughout Westchester County. The selected individual will primarily complete comprehensive, forensic, mental health assessments and referral for mental health/substance abuse treatment and other community based services, for clients assigned to WJCS' Linkages Program.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, position. The selected candidate must be a NY Licensed Masters Level Social Worker or NY Licensed in a related field from an accredited school, plus two years experience working with adolescents.  The selected individual must also have a strong understanding of adolescent development, be able to work well independently, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work in various host locations.  Licensure will be required within three months of hire.  Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus.  The selected person must have their own motor vehicle in order to travel throughout Westchester County.

Supported Education and Employment Specialist, OnTrackNY

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Supported Education and Employment Specialist (SEES) to work at our site in Peekskill, NY in the OnTrackNY Program. The “OnTrackNY” Program is an innovative and exciting treatment program offered by WJCS in cooperation with a larger NY State research team. The program serves adolescents and young adults who are in the very early stages of a psychotic disorder.

Under the general supervision of the Regional Director of Behavioral Services, the SEES, will work as part of a small multidisciplinary team providing coordinated and assertive treatment in the earliest stages of illness. Other duties include assisting individuals with mental illness to obtain rapid competitive employment and mainstream educational opportunities. The SEES will also provide job development and job search services directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the people on his/her caseload.

The ideal candidate must possess a BA in mental health-related field, social services, or business; experience working with adolescents and young adults with serious mental illness preferred; and experience providing employment or education services preferred.
