WJCS is currently searching for a PART-TIME, 21  hours per week, Accounts Payable Specialist to work in our headquarters office in White Plains, NY. This position includes benefits. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist performs tasks involving the recording of expenses and cash disbursements following prescribed practices and procedures.  Other responsibilities include inputting and allocating invoices, purchase orders, expense reports and recurring expenditures to a computerized accounting system; obtaining proper approvals and backing up documentation; and performing administrative tasks related to financial record keeping.

Care Coordinator

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Care Coordinator to work in the Health Home Program throughout Westchester County with our office based in Yonkers, NY.  Under supervision of the Care Manager, the Care Coordinator will work with individuals in the community who have two chronic medical conditions or a mental health issue.  The goal of the program is to assist these individuals in managing all of their health needs and in living a well-balanced, health life.

Responsibilities include providing care management services and health coordination to health home members; providing timely outreach and engagement to potential health home enrollees as identified by the Health Home; overseeing and providing access to the services an individual needs with the goal of maintaining health and avoiding unnecessary use of hospitals and emergency rooms. 

The ideal candidate must have knowledge of serious health and mental health conditions and management of same; knowledge of community resources and advocacy; and must be able to communicate effectively in English both written and orally.  Must possess a bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of health care experience or experience working with medically underserved population.  Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have the ability to travel to various communities and meeting sites.

Case Manager(s)

The Case Manager will conduct various assessments of home delivered meal recipients including a financial assessment to determine eligibility for the program, services and entitlements. The selected person must be computer literate and possess a minimum of a Master's degree in a human services field or be a Registered Nurse. Experience with seniors is preferred. Community Habilitation Worker

WJCS is currently searching for several Community Habilitation Trainer to work up to 20 hours per week at $14.00 per hour.  Hours are flexible. Direct Support Professional(s)

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. Candidates must have a valid NYS driver’s license for at least two years. A minimum 6-12 months working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred. WJCS is currently searching  for Home Health Aides,  Continuous recruitment.  10-40 hours a week in Westchester County.   Live-in positions available.  The HHA will perform routine tasks that assist patients who are essentially home-bound with normal activities of daily living in their home and provide nutritional and environmental support services, which may include housekeeping, shopping, laundry services, meal preparation, paying bills and running errands.

Maintenance Specialist

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) has an opening for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Maintenance Specialist to work in our Community Programs Division in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Senior Maintenance Specialist the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for conducting inspections and repairs in the community residences and for maintaining the interior and exterior of the residences in accordance with OPWDD regulations.

Program Director, Center Lane

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Program Director to work in Yonkers.  Under the general supervision of the Director of Youth Services, the Program Director of Center Lane is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of all aspects of a community program serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) adolescents and their allies.  Responsibilities include leading a team of 3-4 direct service staff members in addition to interns and volunteers, who facilitate various support/drop-in groups in Yonkers, White Plains, and other Westchester County sites; identifying and creating new program components and enhance existing program components and conducting comprehensive community based education and training, presentations, and outreach, assist in grant writing and fundraising efforts, maintain all program records in conformance to both agency policy and regulatory agencies directives, and ensure the utilization of pre/post outcome measurement tools for program activities.
