Respite SpecialistJob: RES Category: Project Time Out
WJCS is currently searching for a part-time, 12 hour per week Respite Specialist to work throughout Westchester County. The Respite Specialist for Project Time Out (PTO) is involved in the management of respite services for the elderly population referred to PTO. Other responsibilities include providing outreach to senior centers and community programs for families needing specialized caregivers and completing intakes/assessments in the home for families caring for an adult 60 years and older. Also, assisting in the recruiting and training of respite workers to care for the above populations.
The ideal candidate must have good public speaking and writing skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Proven ability to work with the elderly. Must possess a bachelor’s or higher degree in social work, special education, gerontology, or a related degree. Additional training is offered through the WJCS Education Institute.
