Accounts Receivable Specialist

WJCS is searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in our headquarters office in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Revenue Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for billing tasks needed for the Accounts Receivable/Finance Department. Other responsibilities include performing, in a timely manner, billing of insured clients for clinic services; generating self-pay/co-pay bills. Answer patient inquiries regarding outstanding account balances. Contact responsible party to resolve delinquent accounts. Prepare payment plans and monitor adherence to the agreed upon plan. Review delinquent accounts for collections. Identify and prepare patient refunds as needed.

The ideal candidate must possess an Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma and a minimum of three years in medical billing, bookkeeping or accounting experience and knowledge of accounts receivable systems. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program officials, employees and others. Proficient with various computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel). Must be able to sit for a long period of time. Must be able to lift boxes up to 50lb.
