Court Assessment Program
Professional evaluations for use by the legal system
At the request of the family courts in White Plains, Mount Vernon and New Rochelle, WJCS Court Assessment Program provides both psychiatric and psychological assessments of children and their families. The results are used to help judges, lawyers, law guardians and families make informed decisions regarding child custody, visitation rights, residential placement and mental health treatment.
The program has an academic component providing training for psychology students enrolled in the Forensic Psychology Masters Program at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and psychiatric fellows enrolled in the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
