A big shout-out to Hannah Skolnick and Sia Carr, two amazing Westchester students who teamed up for their Bat Mitzvah project to support our WJCS 2025 Back-to-School Drive! Together, they raised money and packed 27 backpacks filled with new school supplies to ensure kids in their community can start the school year prepared for success.

For her Bat Mitzvah project, Westchester student Sienna Zimmerman put together care kits for children and teens receiving trauma therapy at our WJCS Trager Lemp Center for Trauma & Resilience. Each kit included journals, arts supplies, stuffed animals, fidget toys, candles, blankets, and even aptly-named, emotional support stuffies! Liane Nelson, Ph.D., Chief Psychologist and Director of the Trager Lemp Center, shared how important these kits are to our clients. |

WJCS hosted its 5th Annual Holocaust Survivor Day Luncheon at Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale in partnership with The Seed the Dream Foundation, KAVOD, and Concerts in Motion. The event brought together dozens of Holocaust Survivors in Westchester, along with their families and caregivers, to celebrate their strength and impact.

WJCS Center Lane for LGBTQIA+ Youth had a blast at their annual Prom! The event was attended by 102 youth from different schools, towns, and backgrounds, with 21 volunteers coming together to make the night a success. Youth were able to express their identities with affirming prom outfits and accessories, as well as have their pictures taken in our photo booth, and enjoy activities with new friends in our community room.

WJCS POINT members performed in Seussical the Musical for their annual Theater for Action show to a packed audience at the Play Group Theatre in White Plains, after seven months of rehearsals! (above) They also enjoyed their annual Field Day at Delfino Park with relay races, games, and cheering each other on! (below)

We were so happy to host our first Volunteer Appreciation Ice Cream Social on our backyard green for WJCS and FSSY volunteers, celebrating their hard work, dedication, and commitment to our Westchester community. Guests enjoyed delicious ice cream from Penny Lick Ice Cream Company and took home WJCS swag! |

Our partners at Deloitte celebrated their Annual Impact Day at WJCS. Participants planted flowers and painted pots for WJCS community residences and created tote bags for families in our Summer Fun at Hartley Park program. |

Congressman Mike Lawler met with WJCS executive and clinical leaders at our Peekskill Clinic to learn more about our Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, Mobile Crisis Response Teams, Co-Occurring and Substance Use Disorder Treatment, and school-based mental health programs. |
As part of a 14-state interfaith advocacy coalition, WJCS Director of Engagement & Culture Stephan Spilkowitz met with members of Congress in Washington, and focused on protecting Medicaid and SNAP for vulnerable communities. This effort was led by the Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies, Catholic Charities USA, MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Lutheran Services in America, NCJW Inc, the NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, and the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism.

Our WJCS 2025 Back-to-School Drive is in full swing! Help us to provide children, youth, and families with the tools they need to succeed. Children aged 5-11 will receive a new backpack filled with supplies. Youth aged 12-18 will receive a $50 gift card to buy the items they need most for their school year.
