Social workers are an essential part of the fabric of Westchester Jewish Community Services. Many of them serve in our mental health and trauma clinics, offering direct therapeutic support to individuals and families. Others work in schools, residences, community-based programs, care management, and in leadership and administrative roles throughout the agency. While their responsibilities may look different, what unites their work is a shared commitment to helping people feel supported, understood, and less alone during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
Social work is not easy work. It calls on people to bring professional skill and knowledge, but also humanity, patience, compassion, and hope. Every day, our social workers bring all of that and more to the people we serve. They help Westchester residents of all ages and backgrounds find stability, navigate challenges, and see the possibility of a better path forward. In doing so, they strengthen not only individual lives, but families, neighborhoods, and our broader community.
This work can be demanding, and often much of what they do happens quietly—one conversation, one act of support, one moment of connection at a time. But those moments matter deeply. They are at the heart of our mission and of the difference WJCS makes every day.
Thank you to all of our social workers for the heart you bring to this work, for the care you show, and for the extraordinary difference you make across our agency and in the lives of so many. We are proud to have you at WJCS, and during National Social Work Month we celebrate and honor you with deep appreciation.
