Community Programs of WJCS operates community residences for adults with developmental disabilities. We provide a supportive atmosphere through 24-hour, hands-on care, offered by trained quality staff. In these caring homes individuals are encouraged to realize their hopes, dreams, and achieve their highest potential.

Individualized Residential Alternatives and Supportive Apartments

Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) are supervised living opportunities certified by New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and available for eligible individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently, Community Programs of WJCS supervises 10 residences in White Plains, Mamaroneck, Eastchester, Sleepy Hollow, Mt. Vernon, Yonkers and Harrison with 6-8 people living in each. Each person receives person-centered services, specific to their needs and desires, to live as independently as possible. Opportunities are available to individuals age 21 or older who are OPWDD eligible.

Intermediate Care Facilities

Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) are 24-hour care facilities certified by New York State OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and available for eligible individuals with developmental disabilities. Currently, Community Programs of WJCS offers 3 residences in White Plains, New Rochelle, and Larchmont. Each person receives individualized personal care, habilitation, developmental and supportive health services specific to their needs and desires, to live as independently as possible. Opportunities are available to individuals age 21 or older.
