This training will provide a brief overview of suicidality among youth, with a focus on evidence-based suicide risk assessment and safety planning. This training with discuss the risk and protective factors that may increase or reduce risk in youth, the challenges of assessing risk of suicide, and introduce interventions that may be useful in addressing suicidal thoughts and behaviors in treatment.

  • Learn about suicide risk in youth 
  • Evaluate risk and protective factors that may increase or reduce risk in youth 
  • Understand clinical considerations of administering the Columbia Suicide Severity Scale and Safety Plan Template  
  • Identify evidence-based suicide interventions  

 Instructor: Samantha Jay Title, M.A is currently a psychology Fellow at WJCS and Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County
