On Wednesday June 4th, Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) will host its 5th Annual Holocaust Survivor Day Luncheon. The event will bring together and honor dozens of Holocaust Survivors living in the Westchester community.

“Seed the Dream Foundation is proud to support over 30 communities across the United States in recognizing Holocaust Survivor Day on June 4, 2025. As we mark this fifth annual Holocaust Survivor Day, we celebrate the resilience, courage, and legacy of Holocaust Survivors, and the lives they’ve built with strength and with grace,” said Dr. Marcy Gringlas, Ph.D., President of Seed the Dream Foundation, which is sponsoring the event.

“Seed the Dream Foundation and the JCC of Krakow, together with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and World Zionist Organization (WZO), proudly amplify this important day. May the world listen deeply as our Survivors share their stories-. the remarkable strength they carried forward, the hope in every act of rebuilding, in every tradition preserved, in every story shared. Today we listen. We cherish. And we honor each and every Survivor for their extraordinary resilience and courage.”

The event is co-hosted by Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, where it is also being cohosted by KAVOD, and Concerts in Motion, an organization that is dedicated to alleviating loneliness through music.

“We, in Westchester, are so fortunate to have courageous and inspiring Holocaust Survivors who are models of how to live productive and constructive lives. These are people who carry within them painful memories and losses and yet have transcended negativity to build beautiful families and contribute to their community,” said Allison Danzig Coordinator of Holocaust Survivor Services at WJCS.

WJCS provides a wide array of services to Holocaust survivors in Westchester, including home-delivered kosher meals, support groups for Survivors as well as members of the Second Generation led by a skilled professional, home care coordination, and social activities that include holiday celebrations and outings to films, concerts, and shows.
