Teen Social Groups
To help adolescents with special needs transition to adult services, WJCS offers social, recreational, skills-based group for adolescents on the autism spectrum and their families. Meeting weekly in a club-like format, participants engage in experiential activities planned to enhance social, recreational and independent living skills. Healthy sexuality and relationship groups enable teens and young adults with autism to learn essential skills to safely engage in relationships. Weekly professionally guided parent groups offer education, preparation for transition into the adult world, formal and informal supports, networking and problem-solving opportunities. These groups are supported with funding from the J.E. and Z.B. Butler Foundation.
