Part-time Early Learning Specialists (to work virtually) in our ParentChild+ Program

The WJCS ParentChild+ program, formerly known as the Parent Child Home Program, has been proudly serving the Westchester community for 48 years. It's vision and goal: to create a world where every child enters school ready to succeed and support parents as their child's first and most important teacher. WJCS is currently seeking Early Learning Specialists (ELS) to work remotely during the COVID pandemic. As an Early Learning Specialist, you will:

  • Receive training in our early childhood curriculum and participate in weekly staff meetings.
  • Engage parents and children (16 months-3 years) in twice-weekly virtual sessions, via phone or video chat, of up to 30 minutes (October to May)
  • Promote the joy of learning through books, toys, and play! Fun, educational materials are given to the family to keep
  • Support and value the privacy and ethnic/cultural heritage of families served

This meaningful and exciting work requires a minimum commitment of 9 hours per week. Early Learning Specialists need no special educational background but must have a personality suited to "home visiting" and enjoy working with parents and toddler-aged children. Bilingual Spanish speakers and/or community members encouraged to apply.

ParentChild+ serves eligible families in White Plains, Port Chester, New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Mount Vernon, Greenburgh, Sleepy Hollow, and Tarrytown.

ParentChild+ runs from October 2020 to May 2021, following the school calendar. Training will be held in early October for successful candidates via Zoom. Early Learning Specialists receive compensation for their work.
