It’s back-to-school season and, thanks to the generous support of WJCS donors and partners, 1,000 children from under-resourced communities in Westchester are starting the school year with a new backpack, school supplies, and outfit.

Our Volunteer department has ensured that children in 16 WJCS programs, whose families are in financial need, are prepared for this coming academic year. Children in Pre-K through grade 6 received a backpack filled with supplies and a $50 gift card to Old Navy for a new first day of school outfit. Older students received the $50 Old Navy gift card. The donations went directly to children in our WJCS mental health clinics, after-school enrichment programs, and other programs.

We're thrilled that we received media coverage from News12 at a UJA event in which volunteers packed backpacks to support the WJCS Backpack Drive. We are grateful to UJA for their partnership and so grateful to WJCS employees who serve as liaisons to the Volunteer Department. Thank you all for your partnership! We look forward to continuing the good work of WJCS together in the future.
