Mental Health Awareness Month

Published Wednesday, May 1, 2019

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. With rates of depression, anxiety, suicide, co-occurring disorders, and other mental health problems being devastatingly high, it has never been more important to draw attention to and break the stigma surrounding mental health.

Miriam Arond, Director of Communications at WJCS, recently sat down with Michael Orth, Commissioner of Westchester County, Department of Community Mental Health, to discuss a wide range of issues relating to mental health.

In a series of eight brief videos, Commissioner Orth shares his knowledge and insights about tackling mental health problems. In this first video, Commissioner Orth addresses mental health challenges in Westchester.
