WJCS honored its volunteers on Thursday, Apr. 20, for their contributions of time, energy and talent to WJCS programs spanning from after-school initiatives to services for older adults. WJCS COO Bernie Kimberg stressed the positive impact that more than 200 volunteers have on some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Mike Kaplowitz, Chair of the County Board of Legislators noted that volunteers are a critical part of the social safety net in Westchester. Volunteers from WJCS Pass It On Kid's Kloset received special recognition for their milestone achievement of delivering 10,000 “bags of love” - individually prepared packages with beautiful clothing and other essential items for Westchester children and families in need.
