Project SEED (Supporting Early Emotional Development) is a collaboration between Westchester Jewish Community Services and the Jewish Education Project, and is designed to help early childhood educators support young children’s emotional development. SEED early childhood consultants are licensed social workers. These experts facilitate workshops for parents and are available to meet with parents individually. Consultants also facilitate staff development training and work with teachers to build excellence in our classroom environments.

Through Project SEED, early childhood consultants become integral to the school community and support the directors, teachers and parents in building stronger learning environments for children.

Consultants facilitate parent workshops on a range of topics including:

  • Social and emotional wellness
  • Typical development of 2, 3 and 4-year olds
  • Literacy development
  • Kindergarten readiness
  • Appropriate limit setting
  • Toddler transitions to 3’s, 4’s and beyond
  • Sleep issues
  • Separation
  • The important role of play in the pre-school classroom and beyond
