Accounts Receivable Specialist

 

WJCS is searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in our headquarters office in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Revenue Accounting Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for billing tasks needed for the Accounts Receivable/Finance Department. Other responsibilities include performing, in a timely manner, billing of insured clients for clinic services; generating self-pay/co-pay bills. Answer patient inquiries regarding outstanding account balances. Contact responsible party to resolve delinquent accounts. Prepare payment plans and monitor adherence to the agreed upon plan. Review delinquent accounts for collections. Identify and prepare patient refunds as needed.

The ideal candidate must possess an Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma and a minimum of three years in medical billing, bookkeeping or accounting experience and knowledge of accounts receivable systems. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, program officials, employees and others. Proficient with various computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel). Must be able to sit for a long period of time. Must be able to lift boxes up to 50lb.

Under the general supervision of the Office Manager, the Clinic Secretary will provide secretarial services for a program, department or office. Other responsibilities include preparing, organizing and filing patient charts including the processing of intake paperwork for new clients; Performing secretarial and typing services; and arranging appointments and meetings and prepare materials for the meetings.

Under the general supervision of the Admitting Director, the Admitting Specialist will be involved in day to day operations of the Admitting Department. Other responsibilities include processing intakes/referrals and scheduling initial intake appointments for prospective clients and/or agencies that are seeking mental health services at WJCS; verifying/obtaining benefits and pre-certification information from insurance company; and registering insurance and initial pre-certification information for new clients in electronic system.

The ideal candidate must possess a high school or general equivalency diploma and four years of relevant experience, or an Associate’s Degree in a relevant area, or graduated from an approved secretarial or business school and two years’ experience, or any satisfactory equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience. Must have strong knowledge of data entry and electronic medical record system (or solid ability to learn and process electronic medical record system); strong knowledge of the mental or health related administrative setting; and strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing policies including on-line Epace Medicaid eligibility system.

Community Habilitation Worker

Program Coordinator (Margaret's Place)

This position is responsible for providing program curriculum, group counseling, individual counseling, peer leadership development and school-community psycho-education training to faculty, students and families at the middle school. The focus is on domestic and interpersonal violence, but also addresses violence prevention, healthy relationships and communication among other related issues.

The ideal candidate must have proven ability to work with youth, adults and families; clinical experience in the field trauma treatment and prevention; and thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work/counseling and youth development. Must possess a LMSW (or acquire licensure in first year), Art Therapist or related graduate professional degree and licensure. Computer literate and able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Program Director( Scopes)

WJCS’ School Based Mental Health Satellite Clinics in 2 local elementary schools in the Peekskill City School District is seeking a part-time of full-time, 28-35 hours per week, with benefits, Program Director. The Program Director has daily administrative and clinical responsibility for the mental health clinic services that are provided to school-aged children and their families. He/She will supervise a professional team of clinicians who identify, diagnose and provide treatment and support to “at risk” students and their families on-site in 2 schools. The Program Director establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with the school community as well as organizes and provides training to the school and parent community within each school building. The applicant must have clinical experience working with youth and families and be a Certified Social Worker (CSW) or Ph.D. licensed to practice in New York State. Strong writing, verbal, organization, and computer skills are necessary. Experience working with an “at-risk” youth population is desired. A car is needed since the position may require off-site work and travel between the 2 school buildings and the clinic. WJCS is currently searching for part-time, 20 hours per week Program Specialist for our community-based afterschool and youth development program for girls in Yonkers, NY. The Program Specialist must be available weekday afternoons to work the minimum hours from 2:00 – 6pm, with flexibility to work alternate hours as afterschool needs require. Under the general supervision of the Program Director, the Program Specialist will provide program services to young women from the community who participate in the program. Other responsibilities include planning and implementing curriculum based workshops intended to increase positive self-esteem and self-worth for girls in grades 4 through 8; conducting outreach to parents, families and community organizations regarding program services; and ensuring a continuum of services and youth development programming for after school youth.

The ideal candidate must have experience facilitating and developing programs for youth; able to build supportive and professional relationships with youth, young adults and staff; and able to take initiative and work collaboratively.  A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is preferred and must be able and willing to commit to entire program and program philosophy.  Computer literacy is preferred.  Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.

Registered Nurse

We are searching for full-time and part-time Registered Nurses, to work in our groups homes located in Westchester County. Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision, audio evaluations, and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi- annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the all protocol and ensures documentation is present for all trainings.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid New York State license to practice as a Registered Nurse; valid driver’s license and vehicle required; have a CPR Certification; and have experience working with the ID/DD population. Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations as it relates to nursing practices and procedures helpful.

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Residence Manager to work in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Residence Manager performs a variety of tasks associated with the responsibilities of the supervision and overall operation of a community based residence that provides residential habilitation services and supports for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Other responsibilities include providing Person Centered Supports as out lined in the NYS DSP Code of Ethics; supervising and ensuring habilitation plans and services are implemented as identified by the IDT; and promoting and practicing justice, fairness, and equity for the people you support and the community as a whole and will affirm the human rights, civil rights and responsibilities of the people you support.

The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and health care conditions; knowledge of supervisory, leadership and administrative practices that promote team work and development of staff; and able to pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. BA degree preferable with LPN or RN License, two years supervisory experience and three years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Valid Driver’s License is a must. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule and maintain on-call coverage.

WJCS is currently searching for part-time, flexible workers for two respite programs in Westchester County to provide in-home assistance for families caring for either a dependent older person, or as a respite sitter for a child/children with a developmental disability. Work hours and area are of your choice. Provide stimulating companionship, supervision, and socialization. Follow through with care plans recommended by the family. WJCS is currently seeking both permanent part-time and per diem staff to work in our Social Clubs located in Peekskill and Shrub Oak, NY. Positions are open for Tuesday/Thursday from 5pm-9pm and daytime openings for Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8-2pm.

The ideal candidate should have a background in working with adults and have a desire to help others. Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and be able to operate a 13-passanger van. Staff work under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, and will provide support and encouragement to the social club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, education, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Social Worker- Linkages

WJCS is currently searching for a Social Worker for the Linkages Program serving Westchester County. The Social Worker will work directly with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, specifically, the Department of Probation, throughout Westchester County. The selected individual will primarily complete comprehensive, forensic, mental health assessments and referral for mental health/substance abuse treatment and other community based services, for clients assigned to WJCS' Linkages Program.

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, position. The selected candidate must be a NY Licensed Masters Level Social Worker or NY Licensed in a related field from an accredited school, plus two years experience working with adolescents.  The selected individual must also have a strong understanding of adolescent development, be able to work well independently, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work in various host locations.  Licensure will be required within three months of hire.  Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus.  The selected person must have their own motor vehicle in order to travel throughout Westchester County.

We are currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week Social Worker to work in Mt. Vernon, NY. Under general supervision of the Clinic Director, the Social Worker will provide psycho-therapeutic services to children, adults, and families experiencing emotional difficulties. The Social Worker utilizes various therapeutic modalities, including ongoing cases, crisis and intakes, using evidence based practices. The Social Worker is responsible for all recording and statistical procedures required by the agency including case records, insurance forms and related data, monthly statistical sheets, schedules, surveys, etc; and maintaining necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal meetings as necessary. This position includes benefits.

The ideal candidate must have thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work: must be able to work with children, adolescents, adults or families; must be able to conduct interviews to obtain social and medical information necessary to perform diagnostic evaluation; ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Bi-lingual, English-Spanish is a plus. Knowledge of Netsmart or other Electronic Medical Record System. MSW from an accredited school of social work and possession of or eligible for certificate to practice social work in New York State issued by the State Education Department.
