Admitting Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Admitting Specialist to work in our Headquarters in White Plains. Under the general supervision of the Admitting Director, the Admitting Specialist is involved in day to day operations of the Admitting Department. Other responsibilities include processing of intakes/referrals for prospective clients and/or agencies that are seeking mental health services at WJCS; verify/obtain benefits and pre-certification information from insurance company; and register insurance and initial pre-certification information for new clients in electronic system.

 The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of an Associate degree (Bachelors Degree preferred) in a health related field. Must have previous office and/or managed care experience; strong knowledge of mental health or health related administrative setting; and strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid billing policies. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus!

Clinic Coordinator, Yonkers Satellite Clinic

Clinical Supervisor

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, Clinical Supervisor to work thirty-five hours per week in Mt. Vernon, NY.  The Clinical Supervisor works as a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a friendly and warm community-oriented outpatient clinic.  The Clinical Supervisor has administrative responsibility for the assignment of intake evaluations and for tracking patients through the assessment process. The Clinical Supervisor may supervise clinic staff as assigned by the Clinic Director. The Clinical Supervisor provides mental health care in the form of evidence-based psychotherapy (assessment, diagnosis and treatment through individual, couples, family and group therapy), crisis intervention, training/outreach, and consultation. The Clinical Supervisor also provides clinical supervision, consultation, and leadership to clinical staff on research and clinical issues, including empirically based practices.

Community Habilitation Worker

WJCS is currently searching for several Community Habilitation Trainer to work up to 20 hours per week at $14.00 per hour. The Community Habilitation Trainer will work throughout Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the POINT Director, the Community Habilitation Trainer will be responsible to provide in home and community based habilitation services such as education, instruction, and direct services to individuals with MR/DD/LD in supported independent living settings. Other responsibilities include assisting with the development of the individuals’ Community Habilitation Plans; promoting individual’s chosen individualized outcomes that empower and enable individuals to achieve their stated goals and to live as optimally as possible; and assisting in the development of social skills by providing education, training, and role modeling.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent with one year experience working in a related field. Experience in working with the DD population; good knowledge of nutrition and good financial practices; and able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Candidates must maintain reliable transportation and possess a valid NYS driver’s license and a driver’s record considered acceptable to agency insurance carrier.

Direct Support Professional(s)

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. Candidates must have a valid NYS driver’s license for at least two years. A minimum 6-12 months working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred. This position requires physical activity including but limited to lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, flexing, and bending.

WJCS is currently searching  for Home Health Aides,  Continuous recruitment.  10-40 hours a week in Westchester County.   The HHA will perform routine tasks that assist patients who are essentially home-bound with normal activities of daily living in their home and provide nutritional and environmental support services, which may include housekeeping, shopping, laundry services, meal preparation, paying bills and running errands.

The HHA will provide and/or assist with personal care functions to restore and/or maintain patients' activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, grooming, feeding, self medication, skin care, equipment including walkers, crutches, canes, and oxygen. Records and/or reports care given, patient's response and any deviations from normal reactions or routines. Knowledge of specific deviation from normal physical/mental functioning. Ability to understand and carry out technical, non-technical oral and/or written directions, maturity, reliability, good physical and emotional health, communication skills. Holds a certificate from a New York State Department of Health approved training course with 60 hours of classroom and 30 hours of clinical training or an approved equivalency. Home Visitors

The WJCS Parent-Child Home Program (PCHP) is currently recruiting part-time visitors, who receive a stipend, for the new program year 2015-2016 (October – May).Staff Training will be held in September. This meaningful and exciting work requires a minimum commitment of nine hours per week. Although Home Visitors’ hours are flexible, attendance is required at weekly staff/training meetings held on Wednesday mornings at WJCS, 141 North Central Avenue, Hartsdale, NY 10530.

The Parent-Child Home Program serves low-income families in White Plains, Port Chester, New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, Greenburgh and Mt. Vernon. Visitors call on parents and children in their homes for a half hour, twice weekly, beginning when the child is about two years old. Each week, the Home Visitor brings a book or toy and in the comfort of the family’s home, parent, child and home visitor participate in fun and stimulating activities using the book or toy. The Home Visitor models verbal interaction – reading, conversation, and play – designed to develop language and literacy skills and school readiness skills.

Home Visitors need no special educational background, but must have a personality suited to home visiting and working with parents and toddler-aged children. Prior to beginning home visits, Home Visitors participate in 16 hours of paid training.

Intensive Care Manager

WJCS is currently searching for an enthusiastic Intensive Care Manager, to work with youth, throughout Westchester County who struggle with mental health needs that impact their ability to function successfully at home, school, and the community. This position is full time, 35 hours/week. Program Coordinator

WJCS has an exciting opportunity to work as a Program Coordinator in the Margaret's Place Program, (a collaboration with the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation). This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, in a host school setting in Peekskill, NY. The Program Coordinator will provide violence prevention and intervention services for students that attend the school. This position is responsible for providing program curriculum, group counseling, individual counseling, peer leadership development and school-community psycho-education services to students and families at the middle school. The focus is on domestic and interpersonal violence, but also addresses violence prevention, healthy relationships and communication among other related issues.

The ideal candidate must have proven ability to work with youth, adults and families; clinical experience in the field trauma treatment and prevention; and thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work and youth development. Must possess a LMSW (or acquire licensure in first year) or related graduate professional degree and licensure. Computer literate and able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

Program Supervisor, Developmental Disabilities

Psychologist

 WJCS is looking for a part-time, 21 hours per week Psychologist for the Developmental Disabilities  (DD) Program located n Hartsdale, NY. This position includes benefits.

The Psychologist will provide evidence-based therapeutic services to individuals ranging in age from 5 through adulthood, dually diagnosed with an intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder and co-morbid psychiatric issues. The Psychologist also provides supervision, training and oversight to psychology interns, externs, and other trainees, oversees research projects and provides leadership on evidence-based practices. The individual will be a member of an interdisciplinary clinical team, and will actively participate in the WJCS APA-accredited internship selection and training process. He/she will consult with clinical staff on psychological testing, evidence-based practices, diagnostic and clinical issues, and research.

The selected candidate must have a doctorate from an APA-accredited program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology, have completed an APA-accredited internship, and possess a valid New York State license. The selected individual must have a thorough understanding of psychiatric disorders, and an interest in and some experience with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders. Additionally, the individual must be a strong team player, and have experience working on an interdisciplinary team in an outpatient setting, a commitment to evidence-based practices, research skills, and a comfort with computer applications. Bi-lingual English-Spanish and/or teaching/supervision experience are plusses.

Registered Nurse

WJCS is searching for a  Registered Nurses. This  is part-time, 22  hours per week and includes benefits.  Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision and audio evaluations and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the trained protocol and , ensures documentation is present for all trainings.

The ideal candidate must possess a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State; valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations; have a CPR Certification; and have experience working with the ID/DD population. Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Service Coordinator

 WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Service Coordinator to work throughout the Westchester area. The Service Coordinator coordinates the continuity of programs, supports, and clinical services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities on their caseload. The Service Coordinator uses a person-centered planning process to develop, implement, and maintain the Individualized Service Plan (ISP), makes referrals, conducts meetings, prepares and distributes reports as required, and ensures that Medicaid and other government benefits are maintained for assigned individuals. Social Club Per Diem Staff

WJCS is currently seeking per diem staff to work in our Social Clubs located in Mohegan Lake, NY. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, per diem staff will fill in for our regular staff whenever they are not able to work. Our staff supports and encourages the club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, educational, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Other responsibilities include facilitating member involvement in chosen recovery oriented activities.

The ideal candidate should have a background in working with adults and have a desire to help others achieve their personal goals. Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and be able to operate a 15-passanger van.

Waiver Support Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Waiver Support Specialist to work at its headquarters in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Waiver Support Specialist will provide support to program coordinators, ensuring benefit and financial management as well as compliance with waiver standards. Other responsibilities include ensuring that benefit eligibility is maintained for all individuals residing within the homes; ensuring that financial audits are completed and compliance attained; and completing word processing, data entry, administrative support and personal allowance and banking records for Community Programs of WJCS.

 The ideal candidate must possess a B/A or B/S in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or a related field; experience with spreadsheets and financial balance sheets; and is accurate, conscientious and flexible with attention to detail. Must be willing to work in a team environment and accepts directions. Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver Services a Plus.
