The Assistant Executive Director Children, Youth and Family Services, provides leadership, administrative management and direction for the Agency's Community Based Programs. This is an executive position that reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

 The Assistant Executive Director supervises and provides direction to several Program Directors to ensure that the directors are fulfilling program responsibilities in directing and administering their programs’ goals and objectives. The Assistant Executive Director monitors funding sources within the Agency.

The ideal candidate must, at a minimum, have a strong knowledge of mental health and preventive services for children and families; knowledge of government policies and procedures as they relate to community based programs that are government funded; and budgeting, proposal and program development skills.Minimum education requirement is a Masters level degree in Social Work or a related field coupled with ten years or more experience as an administrator in a related field. Assistant Residence Manager

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Assistant Residence Manager to work in a group home in Mamaroneck,, NY. Under general supervision of the Residence Manager, the Assistant Residence Manager performs a variety of tasks associated with assisting the Residence Manager with the responsibilities of the supervision and overall operation of a community based residence that provides residential rehabilitation services and supports for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Other responsibilities include performing the duties and essential functions of the position of Direct Support Professional; providing Person Centered Supports as out lined in the NYS DSP Code of Ethics; and promoting and practicing justice, fairness, and equity for the people you support and the community as a whole and will affirm the human rights, civil rights and responsibilities of the people you support.

Case Manager(s)

WJCS is currently seeking several Case Managers for our Home Delivered Meals Program. This is a part-time position with flexible hours. The Case Manager will conduct various assessments of home delivered meal recipients including a financial assessment to determine eligibility for the program, services and entitlements. This position requires home visits in the Westchester County community.

Clinical Supervisor

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, Clinical Supervisor to work thirty-five hours per week in Mt. Vernon, NY.  The Clinical Supervisor works as a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a friendly and warm community-oriented outpatient clinic.  The Clinical Supervisor has administrative responsibility for the assignment of intake evaluations and for tracking patients through the assessment process. The Clinical Supervisor may supervise clinic staff as assigned by the Clinic Director. The Clinical Supervisor provides mental health care in the form of evidence-based psychotherapy (assessment, diagnosis and treatment through individual, couples, family and group therapy), crisis intervention, training/outreach, and consultation. The Clinical Supervisor also provides clinical supervision, consultation, and leadership to clinical staff on research and clinical issues, including empirically based practices.

Community Habilitation Worker

WJCS is currently searching for several Community Habilitation Trainer to work up part-time, to 20 hours per week at $14 per hour. The Community Habilitation Trainer will work with individuals in their apartments in White Plains. Under the general supervision of the POINT Director, the Community Habilitation Trainer will be responsible to provide in home and community based habilitation services such as education, instruction, and direct services to individuals with MR/DD/LD in supported independent living settings. Other responsibilities include assisting with the development of the individuals’ Community Habilitation Plans; promoting individual’s chosen individualized outcomes that empower and enable individuals to achieve their stated goals and to live as optimally as possible; and assisting in the development of social skills by providing education, training, and role modeling.

Coordinator, Medicaid Service Coordination

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Coordinator of Medicaid Service Coordination.  Under the direction of the Director of Community Support Services, the Coordinator of Medicaid Service Coordination is responsible for managing the daily program and long-term administration of Medicaid Service Coordination programs including the development and delivery of services, the assignment of projects, and the supervision of staff.  Other responsibilities include developing effective community partnerships; advocating for individuals and working collaboratively to achieve the mission of person centered planning and self-determination; establishing action plans; implementing, monitoring and evaluating all department programs to ensure program goals and outcomes; and ensure collaboration between department and agency programs.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field with 7 years’ experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, including 3 years of management experience.  Masters degree preferred.  Must have experience with community organizing and advocacy; coaching and managing people; and knowledge and understanding of OPWDD rules and regulation and OPWDD ISS and CSS.  Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and vehicle.

Direct Support Professional(s)

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. WJCS is currently searching  for Home Health Aides,  Continuous recruitment.  10-40 hours a week in Westchester County.   Live-in positions available.  The HHA will perform routine tasks that assist patients who are essentially home-bound with normal activities of daily living in their home and provide nutritional and environmental support services, which may include housekeeping, shopping, laundry services, meal preparation, paying bills and running errands.

The HHA will provide and/or assist with personal care functions to restore and/or maintain patients' activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, grooming, feeding, self medication, skin care, equipment including walkers, crutches, canes, and oxygen. Records and/or reports care given, patient's response and any deviations from normal reactions or routines. Knowledge of specific deviation from normal physical/mental functioning. Maintenance Specialist

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) has an opening for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Maintenance Specialist to work in our Community Programs Division in White Plains, NY. Psychologist

WJCS is currently searching for a part-time Psychologist. The psychologist is needed for 21 hours per week in Yonkers, NY. This position includes benefits. The Psychologist works as a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a warm community-oriented outpatient family mental health clinic.  The psychologist provides mental health care in the form of evidence-based psychotherapy (assessment, diagnosis and treatment through individual, couples and group therapy), crisis intervention, training/outreach, and consultation. The psychologist also provides clinical supervision, consultation, and leadership to clinical staff, psychology fellows and psychology externs on research, testing and clinical issues, including empirically based practices. Participation in an APA-accredited psychology internship program is required.  The selected candidate must have a doctorate from an APA-accredited program in clinical, counseling, or school psychology, have completed an APA-accredited internship, and possess a valid New York State license. Experience working in an outpatient setting, working with clients of varied ages, and using evidence-, based practices are musts.  Bi-lingual-English-Spanish, competency in DBT, and/or teaching/supervision experience are pluses. Registered Nurse

WJCS is searching for a  Registered Nurses. This  is full-time, 36  hours per week Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision and audio evaluations and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the trained protocol and, ensures documentation is present for all trainings. Social Club Per Diem Staff

WJCS is currently seeking per diem staff to work in our Social Clubs located in Mohegan Lake, NY. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, per diem staff will fill in for our regular staff whenever they are not able to work. Our staff supports and encourages the club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, educational, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Other responsibilities include facilitating member involvement in chosen recovery oriented activities.

Social Worker

WJCS is currently for a part-time, 4 days per week, twenty-seven hours per week Social Worker.  There is a possibility that this position will become full-time. This position includes benefits. This position will work with youth and their families involved.  The select individual will provide treatment, planning, and referral for clients to community services. The selected person will also provide advocacy for clients and provide individual and family treatment as needed.   The selected person will also provide case management services when necessary.  The selected person must have a car in order to attend meetings within Lower Westchester County.

Social Worker, Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)

WJCS is searching for a part-time, 21  hours per week, Social Worker for the Treatment Center for Trauma and Abuse in the Yonkers, NY  Family Mental Health Center. This position includes benefits. Under general supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Social Worker provides services to persons in the community who are eligible for the services offered by the Agency, and who have been affected by sexual abuse or family violence as a victim, or family member of the same. Responsibilities include providing direct service in various therapeutic modalities, including ongoing cases, crises and intakes; responsible for all recording and statistical procedures required by the agency including case records, insurance forms and related data, monthly statistical sheets schedules, surveys, etc; and maintaining necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal visits as necessary. Other responsibilities include supervising other staff or students, when applicable; filing insurance claim forms and maintain other necessary contacts with insurance companies; and providing emergency and general clinical coverage for the respective office/clinic.

The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and have or be eligible for certificate to practice social work in New York State issued by the State Education Department. Must have thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work and therapeutic interventions with individuals and families affected by sexual abuse and family violence. Training and supervision in working with children with problematic sexual behaviors and other evidence-based practices is provided. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish required. WJCS has an opening for a Social Worker to work in our satellite clinic in the DSS office in Yonkers, New York. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week. Under supervision of the Program Coordinator, the social worker provides assessment, crisis intervention, referral and linkages, case coordination and treatment to clients referred by DSS. The social worker works in partnership with DSS workers and provides consultation and guidance to the DSS workers on recognition of mental health problems and related mental health issues.

Waiver Worker

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Waiver Worker  to work in the Family Matters Program throughout Westchester County with our office based in Yonkers, NY.  

The Waiver Worker for Family Matters works closely with schools to provide case management and counseling services to school age children and their families.   This position require a person who believes that children are best raised in their homes/communities and, that despite mental health issues, they have innate strengths/abilities that make them unique. There is a very strong sense of team at FAMILY MATTERS as well.  The desire to be a part of a team coupled with the ability to be a team player is essential. Family Matters strives to be an anti-racist program, with focus and emphasis being placed on that objective. The position is home and community based and requires a vehicle and valid driver’s license.  Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school required and two years experience working with children.  On-going clinical supervision and training in the WJCS Educational Institute.
