Accounts Payable Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for a FULL-TIME, 35 hours per week, Accounts Payable Specialist to work in our headquarters office in White Plains, NY. This position includes benefits. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist performs tasks involving the recording of expenses and cash disbursements following prescribed practices and procedures.  Other responsibilities include inputting and allocating invoices, purchase orders, expense reports and recurring expenditures to a computerized accounting system; obtaining proper approvals and backing up documentation; and performing administrative tasks related to financial record keeping.

Assistant Program Director, PCHP

Behavioral Support Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, Behavioral Support Specialist (BCBA/BCBaA). As a member of our team you will assist in the development, training, implementation and evaluation of positive behavioral programming for adults with developmental disabilities living in supervised residential settings throughout lower Westchester County. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the BCBA to ensure quality, person centered support services
  • Conduct FBAs and Skill Assessments
  • Develop and monitor person centered behavior support plans
  • Provide plan specific and generalized behavioral in-service training to staff
  • Conduct reliability checks to ensure the accurate implementation and documentation of plans
  • Analyze data, chart and report on the effectiveness of support plan

Requirements:

  • Applicants should have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Training or experience in behavior analysis
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good PC skills including Excel
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have a vehicle and current driver’s license

Qualifications: 

  • BCBA, BCBaA or in the process of obtaining certification

Billing Specialist.

WJCS is currently seeking a candidate for a part-time billing specialist; starting at 14 hours per week with the possibility of additional hours as your position matures. The employee will post weekly remittances and reconcile cash receipts to the general ledger. The billing specialist will also be responsible for verifying the prior approvals from DSS, entering them into the database, submitting the monthly requests to Department of Social Services (DSS), and checking for authorizations for agency services.

Community Habilitation Worker

Direct Support Professional(s)

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. Maintenance Specialist

Program Specialist

WJCS is currently searching for two part-time, Program Specialist to work from Yonkers and White Plains, NY. One position is 20 hours per week and the other is 10-14 hours per week.  The Program Specialist serves the psychosocial needs of participants at a Westchester County-based community program serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) adolescents and young adults, and assists the program director in coordination and implementation of services.  Responsibilities include providing supportive counseling, outreach, case management, and advocacy services to adolescents/young adults and families; facilitating support groups and drop-in sessions for adolescents/young adults; and providing crisis intervention for  adolescent/young adult clients.

The ideal candidate must have experience in working with adolescents/young adults; must have knowledge of and extreme comfort with issues affecting LGBTQ youth and their families; and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Must be able to work Friday evenings.  Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field.  This position requires great deal of travel throughout Westchester County therefore a reliable vehicle is needed. Registered Nurse

WJCS is searching for a  Registered Nurses. This  is full-time, 36  hours per week Under general supervision from the Director of Nursing Services, the Registered Nurse will provide nursing services for individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS.

The Registered Nurse will promote optimal health and safety through assessment, planning and intervention as well as collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and other health professionals. Other responsibilities include coordinating mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision and audio evaluations and provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi annual and annual reviews; and provides training to staff on all medical protocols and ensures that all staff have a good working knowledge of the trained protocol and, ensures documentation is present for all trainings. Residence Manager

The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and health care conditions; knowledge of supervisory, leadership and administrative practices that promote team work and development of staff; and able to pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD.  BA degree preferable with LPN or RN License, two years supervisory experience and three years’ experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Valid Driver’s License is a must.  Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.  Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule and maintain on-call coverage.

Service Coordinator

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week, Service Coordinator to work throughout the Westchester area. The Service Coordinator uses a person-centered planning process to develop, implement, and maintain the Individualized Service Plan (ISP), makes referrals, conducts meetings, prepares and distributes reports as required, and ensures that Medicaid and other government benefits are maintained for assigned individuals.  Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, ability to develop rapport with individuals served and their families, strong attention to detail and is able to multitask efficiently and effectively.  Knowledge of OPWDD, Individual Supports and Services (ISS), Consolidated Supports and Services (CSS) and government benefits, such as Medicaid and SNAP a plus.

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree in a health or human service field, or a Bachelors Degree in any field with at least 20 credits in health or human services, plus one-year experience assisting people with a developmental disability or working with a similar population. Candidate must have a Valid New York State driver’s license and a vehicle to travel from one site to another.

Social Club Per Diem Staff

WJCS is currently seeking per diem staff to work in our Social Clubs located in Mohegan Lake, NY. Under the general supervision of the Program Coordinator, per diem staff will fill in for our regular staff whenever they are not able to work. Our staff supports and encourages the club members to engage in a wide range of recovery oriented activities that span the spectrum of life including but not limited to recreational and social, educational, work, spiritual, volunteerism, financial, health, basic living skills and housing. Other responsibilities include facilitating member involvement in chosen recovery oriented activities.

Social Worker

WJCS is currently searching for a Social Worker for the Linkages Program serving Westchester County. The Social Worker will work directly with youth involved in the juvenile justice system, specifically, the Department of Probation, throughout Westchester County. The selected individual will primarily complete comprehensive, psychosocial assessments, and provide referrals for youth/families to community resources.  The Social Worker will also   advocate for youth/families and provide case management services when necessary. 

This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, position. The selected candidate must be a NY Licensed Masters Level Social Worker or NY Licensed in a related field from an accredited school, plus two years experience working with adolescents.  The selected individual must also have a strong understanding of adolescent development, be able to work well independently, have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work in various host locations.  Licensure will be required within three months of hire.  Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus.  The selected person must have their own motor vehicle in order to travel throughout Westchester County.

Staff Psychiatrist

WJCS, a large human service agency in Westchester County, is seeking a dynamic individual to assume the role of a psychiatrist.   The psychiatrists will privde direct care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team working in an expanding variety of community settings.  Minimum requirement of at least two (2) years post training clinical and administrative experience, including familiarity with electronic records and Board Certification in Psychiatry.  Experience in management of child psychiatry and/or Board Certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry a plus, but not required.
