Billing Specialist

WJCS is currently seeking a candidate for a full-time, 35 hours per week, billing specialist. The employee will post weekly remittances and reconcile cash receipts to the general ledger. The billing specialist will also be responsible for verifying the prior approvals from DSS, entering them into the database, submitting the monthly requests to Department of Social Services (DSS), and checking for authorizations for agency services. 

 The ideal candidate must possess:

  • A minimum of a HS diploma or GED
  • 3+ years in a bookkeeping or related environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Strong aptitude for numbers and attention to detail  
  • Ability to work independently as well as an effective team member

Community Direct Support Professionals

Community Habilitation Worker

WJCS is currently searching for several Community Habilitation Trainer to work up to 20 hours per week at $14.00 per hour.  Hours are flexible. The Community Habilitation Trainer will work in White Plains.  Under the general supervision of the POINT Director, the Community Habilitation Trainer will be responsible to provide in home and community based habilitation services such as education, instruction, and direct services to individuals with ID/DD in independent living settings.  Other responsibilities include assisting with the development of the individuals’ Community Habilitation Plans; promoting individual’s chosen individualized outcomes that empower and enable individuals to achieve their stated goals and to live as optimally as possible; and assisting in the development of social skills by providing education, training, and role modeling.

Coordinator, VIP

WJCS' Volunteer Internship Program (VIP), is currently searching for a part-time, 18 hours per week, Coordinator. Under the general supervision of the Director of Mental Health Recovery Services, the Program Coordinator of the VIP program has overall responsibility for leadership and management of this program. Direct Support Professional(s)

Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for both full-time (40 hours/week) and part-time (12-35 hours/week) Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in one of the 13 group homes located in Westchester County. Under the general supervision of the Residence Manager, the DSP will support intellectually/developmentally disabled individuals in their development of basic living and social skills with the primary goal of integrating them into the community to the best of their ability. Other responsibilities include providing assistance, services and supports that promote independence and active participation in daily living within the residence and community; administering medications as assigned; and observing and reporting individuals’ illness, health care concerns, injuries, incidents and possible individual abuse.

The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of basic residential services; able to handle sensitive issues while protecting others’ welfare; and able to participate in, pass and maintain certification of WJCS required training that includes but may not be limited to Medication Administration, SCIP, CPR/First Aid, Driving the Van and Mandatory Training as identified by OPWDD. Candidates must have a valid NYS driver’s license for at least two years. A minimum 6-12 months working with people with developmental disabilities, preferred. Director, Yonkers School Based Services

WJCS has an exciting opportunity to for a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) or clinical psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D) with experience in child and school-based mental health to lead our school-based satellite mental health clinic program in Yonkers, NY.  The position is 12 months per year, full time at 35-hours per week with benefits. Under the general supervision of the Regional Director for Behavioral Health in Southern Westchester County, the Program Director of Yonkers School Based Services is responsible for the implementation, management, and development of the WJCS School-Based Mental Health Programs.  Other responsibilities include hiring, training and supervising all staff, both clinically and administratively; facilitating all staff meetings and ensuring that appropriate and necessary training opportunities are available to staff; and ensuring that all program paperwork/documentation meets requirements.

The ideal candidate must possess a LCSW or Ph.D. from an accredited university/college, with at least three years clinical experience working with seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) children/adolescents and their families, plus two years administrative and supervisory experience. WJCS is currently searching  for Home Health Aides,  Continuous recruitment.  10-40 hours a week in Westchester County.   Live-in positions available.  The HHA will perform routine tasks that assist patients who are essentially home-bound with normal activities of daily living in their home and provide nutritional and environmental support services, which may include housekeeping, shopping, laundry services, meal preparation, paying bills and running errands.

The HHA will provide and/or assist with personal care functions to restore and/or maintain patients' activities of daily living, i.e., bathing, grooming, feeding, self medication, skin care, equipment including walkers, crutches, canes, and oxygen. Maintenance Specialist

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) has an opening for a full-time, 40 hours per week, Maintenance Specialist to work in our Community Programs Division in White Plains, NY. Under the general supervision of the Senior Maintenance Specialist the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for conducting inspections and repairs in the community residences and for maintaining the interior and exterior of the residences in accordance with OPWDD regulations.

Peer Specialist

WJCS is currently seeking a part time Peer Specialist to work 12-15 hours per week in Yonkers, NY. Under general supervision of the Program Director, the Peer Specialist will provide peer support services to participants at a community center serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning adolescents. Other responsibilities include co-facilitating, planning and implementing groups; developing strong, positive relationships with participants to promote personal growth; and maintaining client records and data.

The selected person should have at least a high school diploma and be comfortable working with LGBTQ adolescence. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish is a plus. Evening hours are expected in this position and weekend work could be required on an occasional basis. Prior direct work with LGBTQ youth is a plus.

Program Specialist

WJCS' Center Lane, the only LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer) youth and community education center in Westchester county, is currently searching for two part-time, Program Specialist to work from Yonkers and White Plains, NY. One position is 20 hours per week and the other is 10-14 hours per week.  The Program Specialist serves the psychosocial needs of participants at a Westchester County-based community program serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) adolescents and young adults, and assists the program director in coordination and implementation of services.  Responsibilities include providing supportive counseling, outreach, case management, and advocacy services to adolescents/young adults and families; facilitating support groups and drop-in sessions for adolescents/young adults; and providing crisis intervention for  adolescent/young adult clients.

The ideal candidate must have experience in working with adolescents/young adults; must have knowledge of and extreme comfort with issues affecting LGBTQ youth and their families; and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Must be able to work Friday evenings.  Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field.  This position requires great deal of travel throughout Westchester County therefore a reliable vehicle is needed. Knowledge of MS Office is needed.

Social Worker, Mt. Vernon

WJCS is currently searching for a full-time, 35 hours per week Social Worker to work in Mt. Vernon, NY. Under general supervision of the Clinic Director, the Social Worker will provide psycho-therapeutic services to children, adults, and families experiencing emotional difficulties.  The Social Worker utilizes various therapeutic modalities, including ongoing cases, crisis and intakes, using evidence based practices.  The Social Worker is responsible for all recording and statistical procedures required by the agency including case records, insurance forms and related data, monthly statistical sheets, schedules, surveys, etc; and maintaining necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal meetings as necessary. Social Worker, Yonkers

WJCS has an opening for a full-time, 35 hours per week Social Worker for our family mental health clinic in Yonkers, NY. Under general supervision of the Associate Clinic Director, the Social Worker will provide psycho-therapeutic services to children, adults and families experiencing emotional difficulties.   The Social Worker’s responsibilities consist of ongoing cases, crisis and intakes and utilizes evidence based practices.  The Social Worker is responsible for all recording and statistical procedures required by the agency including case records, insurance forms, related data, monthly statistical sheets, schedules, surveys, etc; and maintaining necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate must have thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work. Must be able to work with children, adolescents, adults or families in poorer communities, conduct interviews to obtain social and medical information necessary to perform diagnostic evaluation and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of MS Office and Cerner or other electronic medical record system is needed. Bilingual English-Spanish is a plus. 

The selected person will have a MSW from an accredited school of social work and be licensed by the New York State Education Department to practice social work. On-going clinical supervision and training is available at WJCS’ Educational Institute.

Staff Psychiatrist

WJCS, a large human service agency in Westchester County, is seeking a dynamic individual to assume the role of a psychiatrist.   The psychiatrists will provide direct care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team working in an expanding variety of community settings.  Minimum requirement of at least two (2) years post training clinical and administrative experience, including familiarity with electronic records and Board Certification in Psychiatry.  Experience in management of child psychiatry and/or Board Certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry a plus, but not required.
