Connect to Care Economic Response Initiative
Resources to help members of the Jewish community cope with economic and career distress
The Westchester Connect to Care program was created by UJA Federation of NY and WJCS in 2009 to help those that were affected by the economic downturn. While the economy has improved since the height of the Great Recession, there are many who continue to struggle with employment and economic instability.
Connect To Care is a collaboration of three agencies--Westchester Jewish Community Services, FEGS and NYLAG (New York Legal Assistance Group). We have joined together to lend our expertise to respond to the needs of those clients dealing with the impact of the recession and continued employment difficulties.
As C2C enters its 6th program year, we look forward to continuing to offer exceptional services to job-seekers. Services offered include: financial and legal counseling, social work and spiritual support, career counseling and access to the NYS Small Business Development Center. C2C also offers ongoing dynamic, informational workshops and support groups.
Connect to Care is committed to helping members of the Westchester Jewish Community who are experiencing difficulties with employment, maximize their opportunities.
CONNECT TO CARE at Westchester Jewish Community Services is a multifaceted approach to dealing with job loss. The staff helps people maximize their chances for success in the career search. Professionals from WJCS, FEGS and NYLAG are on-site to provide legal assistance, financial, emotional and spiritual counseling as well as individual career counseling sessions to clients, all free of charge.
WJCS' CONNECT TO CARE Center offers free workshops and individual assistance by appointment on topics related to career search, family economics and personal support. To view the schedule for the month of September, 2014, click here.
