UJA's Scarsdale Women's Philanthrophy Rescues WJCS Senior Program

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to UJA-Federation’s Scarsdale Women’s Philanthropy for their successful fundraising to sustain the WJCS Senior Program in Mt. Vernon, which provides a social outlet for 250 older adults. The group set out to raise $50,000 but topped that number with an additional anonymous donation of $25,000. Based at Sinai Free Synagogue, The Senior Program was in jeopardy because of a budget shortfall. “This program is a critical lifeline allowing seniors who would otherwise be alone to connect with others,” says Program Director Karen McCabe. “The Scarsdale Women’s Philanthropy’s support ensures that WJCS can continue to give these seniors something to look forward to every day.” Click here to read more about the group’s efforts.
