WJCS Board Member Featured in WSJ

Published Monday, August 6, 2012

WJCS Board member Aaron Kwittken was featured as the Wall Street Journal Donor of the Day on Saturday (8/4).

CEO and Managing Partner of award winning public relations firm kwittken + company worldwide, Aaron fulfilled a "bucket list" dream by competing in the Ironman U. S. Championship on August 11 while raising funds for WJCS' Center Lane. The County's only community center for LGBTQ youth, Center Lane, which serves hundreds annually with a variety of programs, needs financial assistance due to recent cuts in grants and state funding.

A man on a mission, Aaron raised more than $25,000 for Center Lane. He put as much effort into his fundraising as he did into his grueling training regimen. Friends, family, colleagues and clients helped him reach his goal.  He successfully completed the 140.6-mile race in just over 13 hours by swimming 2.4-miles in the Hudson; biking 112-miles on the Palisades Parkway and running 26.2-miles from NJ to the finish line in Riverside Park in Manhattan where he was met by Center Lane participants and many of his supporters.

"Aaron truly sets an example of exceptionalism and WJCS is fortunate to have him as a Board member, supporter and friend," says WJCS CEO Alan Trager.

Center Lane is still accepting donations in honor of Aaron's race. To lend your support, contact Barbara Gordon at bgordon@wjcs.com or call 761-0600 ext. 219.
