Persons with DD Celebrate Rosh Hashanah

Published Wednesday, September 19, 2012

More than 150 people enjoyed the recent WJCS Havorah Rosh Hashanah Celebration for Persons with Developmental Disabilities at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Corners. Rabbi David Greenberg and Youth Director Brad Zicholtz led a wonderful service, engaging their special guests in an evening of song, prayer and joy to celebrate the New Year. As part of the celebration, Brad Zicholtz blew the shofar, a traditional part of the Rosh Hashanah service, to the delight of all of the guests as Rabbi David Greenberg and Lynne Bobbick, a resident of WJCS Claudet House in Eastchester, looked on. A program of Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS), Havorah provides unique opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to experience Jewish life.
