This summer the WJCS Parent Child Center (PCC) is running Toddler Science Camp for parents and their two and three year olds at the New Rochelle Public Library. Each week a different fun, engaging science experiment is conducted while parents encourage their child's natural curiosity through observation, inquiry, prediction, investigation, recording results and communication. Beakers, eye droppers, mixing colors, changing matter and creating structures are all included in the fun as well as a special story time and outdoor fun with games, songs and parachute play. A free drop-in playgroup for parents and their pre-school aged children, PCC is sponsored by Westchester Jewish Community Services. PCC serves families challenged by poverty, low levels of education, language barriers and other obstacles to educational success.
