Program Coordinator (Margaret's Place)

WJCS has an exciting opportunity to work as a Program Coordinator in the Margaret's Place Program, (a collaboration with the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation). This position is full-time, 35 hours per week, in a host school setting in Yonkers. The Program Coordinator will provide violence prevention and intervention services for students that attend the school. This position is responsible for providing program curriculum, group counseling, individual counseling, peer leadership development and school-community psycho-education training to faculty, students and families at the middle school. The focus is on domestic and interpersonal violence, but also addresses violence prevention, healthy relationships and communication among other related issues.

The ideal candidate must have proven ability to work with youth, adults and families; clinical experience in the field trauma treatment and prevention; and thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work/counseling and youth development. Must possess a LMSW (or acquire licensure in first year) or related graduate professional degree and licensure. Computer literate and able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
