WJCS is currently searching for part-time, flexible workers for two respite programs in Westchester County to provide in-home assistance for families caring for either a dependent older person, or as a respite sitter for a child/children with a developmental disability. Work hours and area are of your choice. Provide stimulating companionship, supervision, and socialization. Follow through with care plans recommended by the family. If appropriate take elderly client for a walk or help them with their exercises, play games, read, listen to music. If needed, fix a light meal or escort them to appointments, shopping, or errands. Must be at least 17 years of age. Ability to understand and carry out simple verbal and written directions. Must have ability to get along well with others, patience, kindness, and dependability.
