Community Programs of WJCS is currently searching for two full-time, 40 hours per week, Community Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work in our Community Engagement Program. Under the general supervision of the Employment Coordinator, the Community DSP assists in supporting individuals with disabilities in the community in leisure activities, internships and job placements. Other responsibilities include working with individuals to connect to community activities and organizations; providing assistance at volunteer jobs, social events and community classes. This person is also responsible for the completion of documentation and billing in compliance with OPWDD regulations and agency policy.
The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent with prior experience working with individuals with disabilities. Associates degree in Human Services preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal and group process skills; ability to be accurate, conscientious and flexible with attention to detail; and able to perform job function with ethics, honesty and integrity. Candidates must have a valid NYS driver’s license and able to travel within the community. Please send cover letter with your resume.
