WJCS Trager Lemp Center for Trauma and Resilience is a renowned treatment team within the Family Mental Health Clinics, specializing in the treatment of trauma within the family, including child sexual abuse and domestic violence.  We are seeking a licensed social worker on the Trauma team in the Mt. Vernon and Central Yonkers Family Mental Health Centers.  Under general supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Social Worker provides clinical services to persons in the community who have been affected by sexual abuse or family violence as a victim, or non-offending family member.  The clinician’s responsibilities include providing direct service in various therapeutic modalities, including intakes, assessments, ongoing treatment and when necessary, referrals to higher levels of care.  Responsibilities include initiating and maintaining the clinical record, recording data and statistical procedures required by the agency, completing insurance forms and related data, surveys, and other documentation as needed.  The clinician maintains necessary patient related contacts with other agencies and resources (courts, schools, etc.) including written material, telephone contact and personal visits as necessary.  Other responsibilities may include supervising other staff or students, when applicable; and providing emergency and general clinical coverage for the respective office/clinic.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and have a certificate to practice social work in New York State issued by the State Education Department (LMSW).  Must have thorough knowledge of modern principles and techniques of social work and therapeutic interventions with individuals and families affected by sexual abuse and family violence. Training and supervision in working with children with problematic sexual behaviors and other evidence-based practices is provided.  Knowledge of Netsmart electronic records system is helpful.  Bi-lingual Spanish is a plus!
