Clinical Services for People with Disabilities and Autism
A range of services are offered to children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities (including autism spectrum disorders) and their families. Clinical services include individual, family, couples and group counseling at WJCS Family Mental Health clinic sites located in Hartsdale, Mt Vernon, Peekskill and Yonkers.
Treatment is designed to reduce psychiatric symptoms, improve academic or employment capabilities, strengthen family and social relationships, increase the potential for independent living, and improve the quality of life for clients and their families. Clients range in age from 5 to 65 years of age and live in the community or with family members. Information and referral services are also offered. Staff includes clinical social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists. The interdisciplinary approach and evidence-based practices ensure the highest quality of service to participants.
WJCS also offers specialized non-clinical programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism.
Referrals are accepted from consumers, family members, service coordinators, physicians, psychologists, community-based agencies, hospitals and schools. Most insurance plans are accepted; self-pay fees are available.
