Autism Family Center
A welcoming center for resources, therapeutic services and support
Sensitive to the needs of individuals and families who face the challenges of living with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, WJCS offers a range of services under the AUTISM FAMILY CENTER (AFC) to reduce the stresses and relieve the sense of isolation.
The AUTISM FAMILY CENTER is a place where children, youth and adults are seen first as individuals and then as individuals with a disability. The Center's experienced professional team provides information, guidance, parent support and referrals. Participating families also benefit from the informal support of others familiar with facing similar challenges. Based in the White Plains Headquarters of WJCS, the AFC programs include:
- Parent, sibling & grandparent support groups
- A Parent Behavior Management Training (PMT) program sponsored by the Westchester Community Foundation

- Mother/Daughter programming sponsored by Ronald McDonald House Charities of the New York Tri-State Area
- Breakfast & Supper Clubs
- Project Lifesaver
- Speaker Series
- Information and referral.
Support is provided through funds from UJA-Federation of New York.
