Adults & Families

Mental health, parenting, educational and home care services help people cope with the challenges of daily life

Today's complex lives often present challenges that not only include coping with personal issues, but with  raising children, caring for aging loved ones, managing services for a person with a disability or learning to navigate in new educational and social worlds.

WJCS assist adults and families with a range of mental health services, access to home care and related supports, parenting skills and learning programs.  Specialized services address issues related to domestic abuse and violence in the home and in relationships and counseling for people infected or affected by AIDS.

Opportunities to connect to self-help groups and participate in professionally led group experiences enable people to connect with and learn from others with similar challenges.  Emergency financial support may also be provided to people experiencing crisis situations.

Additional programs address the special needs of adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families.

As part of the UJA-Federation of New York network of agencies, WJCS also provides specialty services for the Jewish community
