Class will be repeated as needed!

Recognizing that we are living in an unprecedented time, including in the mental health field, this course will review current clinical theories as they relate to the present crisis. Utilizing a framework for understanding trauma, loss, and resilience, participants will learn to apply a theoretical framework to clinical work in the current pandemic. The class will discuss the unique challenges of providing clinical services in an environment that continues to be unstable and unpredictable. Through discussion, participants will have an opportunity to share success, challenges, and lessons learned. Self-care, boundaries, use of telehealth will be discussed. 

Method: Lecture, discussion. 

Learning Objectives: 

· To identify clinical skills and theory that inform and support clinical intervention during this crisis. 

· To understand and utilize self-care in providing clinical services during the pandemic.
