Job Description 

Home Health Aides

Time:               Hourly and live-in cases available

Location:         Westchester County

Home health aides (HHA) perform routine tasks that assist clients who are essentially home-bound with normal activities of daily living in their home and provide nutritional and environmental support services, which may include light housekeeping, shopping, laundry services, meal preparation and running errands. Short term, daily and live-in positions are available. 

The HHA will provide and/or assist with personal care functions to maintain clients' daily activities, i.e., bathing, grooming, feeding, self-medication and skin care. HHAs will record care given, patient's response and any deviations from normal reactions, functions or routines.

Qualified Candidates:

Candidates must be mature, reliable, and in good physical and emotional health; must be free from reportable disease and habituation or addiction to depressants, stimulants, narcotics, alcohol or other substances that may alter behavior. Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and understand and carry out technical, non-technical oral and/or written directions and possess good communication skills; read and write English at a 6th grade level. Candidates must be employable in the United States; criminal history background checks performed.

HHAs must hold a certificate from a New York State Department of Health-approved training course. NYS driver's license preferred, but not required. Home Health Services of WJCS provides free training to become a certified HHA.

Free Training

Home Health Services of WJCS offers training courses for qualified candidates at no charge. Our goal is support caring candidates to successfully complete their training and begin working with clients as part of our home health team.

Home health aides must hold a certificate from a New York State Department of Health-approved training course. Home Health Services of WJCS is a NY State-licensed home care service agency (LHCSA). NYS driver's license preferred, but not required.
