WJCS is committed to providing the highest quality service in a comprehensive manner, directed toward helping clients and employees achieve their maximum level of growth and personal fulfillment. In striving to achieve and maintain the highest quality service, WJCS maintains a Compliance Program whose purpose is to foster its adherence to optimal standards applicable to all aspects of agency functioning. 

Compliance Program Overview
Our Compliance Program is anchored by our Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. The codes have been developed to acknowledge our responsibility to consumers, staff, Board members, volunteers, consultants, vendors, and the community at large. We believe in the ethics and values contained in these documents, and we embrace these behaviors in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Adherence to these principles is the fundamental responsibility of each member of this organization and all affiliated services. It requires all staff, volunteers and board members to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with all of its provisions as well as related policies and procedures. WJCS has no interest in prying into the personal and private affairs of any of its employees. We must, however, be concerned about violations of applicable laws, rules, and regulations and there might be times when it becomes obvious that a co-worker is, or at least appears to be, doing something wrong or questionable either intentionally or unintentionally. At such times, if approaching your co-worker directly makes you uncomfortable, or if you are a consumer, volunteer, vendor, Board member and are not sure what to do regarding a potential compliance issue, it is expected that you bring the matter to a supervisor, executive staff member, Board member, Human Resources, the Compliance Officer, or the Helpline. 

Compliance Helpline
WJCS Compliance Helpline is for use by anyone (consumer, staff, volunteer, Board member and vendor) that knows of, or suspects any illegal, unethical, or questionable activity is or has taken place. The Compliance Helpline is a confidential voice mailbox system. To use the Compliance Helpline, simply call 914-761-0600 x1207. Please leave your name, telephone number, and the nature of the problem. If you would like to remain anonymous, please leave a message with as much detail as possible.

Whistleblower and Non-Retaliatory Policy
In accordance with NYS Labor Laws, WJCS will not take any retaliatory action against an employee if the employee in good faith discloses information about our policies, practices or activities to a regulatory, law enforcement or other similar agency or public official. All allegations of intimidation or retaliation will be fully and completely investigated by the Compliance Officer and the Compliance Committee.
