Definition of Program:

Conceived, founded, and administered by professionals from the lesbian and gay community, Center Lane, a program of Westchester Jewish Community Services, is the only community center in Westchester for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning adolescents ages 14-21.

Designed to reduce the isolation that many of these young people feel, the center provides an opportunity for socialization, enhanced self-esteem, personal growth, and a safe space for them to be themselves without the fear of harassment.

Center Lane offers support groups; creative and educational workshops; recreational activities; short-term individual, family, and group counseling; and an after-school drop-in center. The program also provides gay awareness training in high schools and social service agencies throughout the county.
