GLSEN, the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, is an education organization creating safe schools for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students. GLSEN envisions a future in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

The Hudson Valley chapter of New York is one of many in the nation dedicated to ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in K-12 schools.

We welcome all individuals as members, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identiry, to join us in working to create healthy climates in schools.

What Does GLSEN Do?
GLSEN envisions a future in which every child learns to respect and accept all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

We are making anti-LGBT bullying, harassment and name-calling unacceptable in America's schools.
We engage and empower educators as partners in creating schools where every student can fullly participate in school life regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
We are ensuring that the national education agenda to create effective schools includes LGBT issues.
